Our musical director, Tom, was in Paris yesterday and stopped by La Madeleine, the church where Fauré’s Requiem was first premiered and he was organist and choir trainer. As you can see, it’s quite a stunning building!

Tickets are still available for our concert ‘Fauré and his pupils’!

🇫🇷Une bonne répétition de chorale hier soir!🇫🇷

We had a wonderful rehearsal last night where we welcomed mezzo-soprano Laura Oldfield to coach us on our French ahead of our next concert 'Faure and his pupils' in June.

What a night!! 🤩

We loved performing in the ever-magnificent setting of Durham Cathedral. Many people noted that Vaughan Williams's Dona Nobis Pacem was a new work to them, but that's its poignancy was just as relevant today as it was back in 1936.

Huge thanks to our wonderful orchestra, Newcastle Sings Youth Choir, our fantastic soloists Lara Marie Müller and Patrick Owston, composer Oliver Tarney and our wonderful audience.

We hope you all enjoyed this concert and look forward to welcoming you to a future event in the not-to-distant future.

An apt quote from composer and conductor Leonard Bernstein for our upcoming concert 'Ṣim ˈAlenu Shalom | Dona Nobis Pacem' next Saturday, featuring Bernstein's well-loved Chichester Psalms.

We had a special guest in the alto section last night! Woody said it was lovely to meet everyone and hear them sing lots of music. 'Make sure you get a ticket! You'd be barking mad not to...' were his exact words*.

Tickets available from the link below or in person at Durham Cathedral.

We loved starting to work on this new work by Oliver Tarney and Lucia Quinault, 'The Canticle of Elizabeth', telling the story of the Virgin Mary's cousin, Elizabeth.

We'll be performing this, alongside Bernstein's Chichester Psalms and Vaughan Williams's Dona Nobis Pacem on 9 March at Durham Cathedral. Tickets available here:
