Pussycat and the Dirty Johnsons

Alas, no more gigs for us this year 😿. It is with great regret that we are having to cancel our Autumn tour in its entirety as unfortunately our drummer Filfy Antz just had a battle with gravity and lost! His fall from a ladder has resulted in him breaking his heel, and the recovery time is a minimum of 12 weeks. Very painful! No drumming, no driving, no disco dancing!

We were going to be doing *a lot* of new material, which we were in the process of working on for the next album, and getting a stand-in just wouldn’t work for us for this. Our sincere apologies and hopefully we can rearrange for the Spring.

SQUATTER’S TIGHTS debuted last summer as Shambala’s only venue dedicated to punk and DIY arts culture, and as a result of overwhelmingly positive feedback from bands and attendees alike, we are returning with a bang in 2023!

The venue is open between 10pm - 1am (Thurs), 11pm - 5am (Fri & Sat), and 10pm - 2am (Sunday), and our themes are as follows:

* Fempowered! Thursday - An entirely female/NB/trans-centred line-up representing an eclectic selection of genres from across the scene.

Featuring: Daffodildos - The Menstrual Cramps - PUSSYLIQUOR

* The Friday Nite Hellbilly Hop! - dust off your dancing shoes, Hawaiian shirts, vintage gladrags, or kinky clubwear for night of sex-positive, rock’n’rollin’, sleazy surfin’ psychobilly action!

Featuring: AlterModerns - The Kings Of Outer Space - Palooka 5 - Pussycat and the Dirty Johnsons - Los Dedos - Pastor Disaster (DJ set)

* Saturday Stomp & Shake - buckle up for some loud, full-power punk rock and hard-style raving!

Featuring: Mondo Wave - Autonomads - REBELION - The Restarts - The Blunders - Fukrag McGinty (DJ set)

* Sunday Funday - a hot-steppin’, hard skankin’ folk and ska session to wind down the weekend…

Featuring: Music In Our Underpants - Nasty Fishmonger - KilnAboy - Dub The Earth

With the exception of the Fempowered! night, we have a fairly even gender representation on each night.

Goodnight Mark Mitchell, we became friends at a JSBX gig many moons ago through a mutual appreciation of Jon Spencer’s bands. This pic was from the last gig we caught together, The Hitmakers at The Dome — we never arranged to meet at gigs, we just knew each other would be there, a tradition, like going to see family at crimbo, except enjoyable! Our gang and your gang. It’s going to feel very strange knowing we won’t see your face anymore, I wish we got to hang out at the pub like we tried to arrange. It was great to see you at the Dublin Castle when you last came to watch us play but very sad to learn that night of your battle with cancer. Sadder still that last Saturday it stole a lovely human being, fantastic artist and fellow JS fan from the world. You are very much missed. ❤️
