Hope we’re all having a good weekend! I wanted to take a moment to highlight our changing Opal market this year.

Specimen Grade opal has grown on me throughout the years for its variety, bold bright colors and size. Requiring water immersion, it’s an opal for the collector and I’ve enjoyed sharing and collecting unbelievable pieces through the years.

Last years conflict in Ethiopia created an ongoing shortage of Jewlery Grade Opal, it’s stable nature means it’s got higher demand and value per weight. These mines were the hardest hit by the conflict as a larger number of miners were working these mines to keep supply stable. Now, as the rainy season sets in, we look forward to September when renewed efforts could unearth even more of our favorite types of jewlery grade opal.✨

But don’t worry JG lovers, we have new ones to show you later this week to see you through the rainy season.😁
