This is a great program that can help make some California homes less vulnerable to earthquake.
Calling all homeowners in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Pasadena, Berkeley, and Oakland! Do you own a home built before 2000 with a living space above the garage? You may be eligible to get an Earthquake Soft-Story (ESS) retrofit grant and strengthen your home against earthquakes and earthquake damage.
