Hello December! Be Kind. β‘ There is HOPE. It takes a village β€οΈ
Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, death by su***de was the #2 killer of youth aged 10-24.
The isolation and fear gripping the world in 2020 greatly impacted children and adolescents, whose brains were still developing.
Too often, youth mental health challenges go untreated because they aren't recognized, or because the ways we approach and engage with youth are simply...not working.
No community is immune to these challenges.
Please sign up today to learn the prevention and engagement skills that may just save a life:

Amazing work is being done in this community! Thank you to Warwick Cares for being a force for positive change!
Does talking to your teen about mental health or substances feel overwhelming? Or like it's simply not resonating?
Raising teens is one of the most challenging and worrisome periods in the parenting journey.
The good news is there is an evidence-based training that will help.

"The name of the game is kindness, and we all have it in us."
Thank you, Warwick Valley Community Center, for drawing attention to World Kindness Week!
Start with children
One in four children in the U.S. experience bullying at school on a regular basis β teaching kids to be kind to everyone, even if they're different, and to stand up to bullying when they see it, turns them into brave and kind adults.
The objective of World Kindness Week is to spread kindness with small gestures. The main tradition of the day is to be kind and to try and encourage kindness to prevail over hatred. Whether itβs helping out someone with chores, taking the time out to ask how someone is doing, or complimenting someone, the name of the game is kindness, and we all have it in us.
Through their service and sacrifice, countless U.S. Veterans must navigate family separation, hardship, and danger to their physical and/or mental health.
As a collective community, we can ALL contribute in meaningful ways towards improving the outcomes and well-being of Veterans. We can SEE them. Be there. Simply...show up!
Together with Warwick Cares and Warwick Valley Coalition, we encourage all who are local to Warwick to join us tomorrow to do just that!
Tomorrow, Saturday, November 11th, the Warwick Veterans Day Parade steps off onto Main Street from the High St., at 11:11 am, and proceeds through the village to Veterans Memorial Park, for a Ceremony led by Warwick Valley VFW Post 4662 Commander JosΓ© Morales.
One and ALL are welcome to join for the post-ceremony Hot Dogs & Hamburgers BBQ at Excelsior Firehouse on Church St.
Please join us in celebrating the treasured Veterans in our community. Pay them respect, hear their words, and share a meal- all of the best ways to show you care. πΊπΈ
We honor Veterans everywhere, on this day and every day.
To each and every one: THANK YOU for your service!
Traditions can enrich our lives when they bring joy to us and the people we love, renew our faith or spiritualism, help us remember loved ones who have passed on, and of course, when we watch our children experience them for the first time.
Some years, traditions are too painful, or are impossible to keep for any number of reasons. They might be released, to return the following year, or might not return at all. They might just sneak out and surprise us by bringing joy again in a few more years (or decades?) later!
Friends, please accept this gentle reminder to take care of yourself this holiday season:
Sometimes the best way to care for others is in caring for yourself.
Are you thinking of someone having a rough year?
