Every child has dreams, and orphans are no different. Their dreams are just as vibrant, their hopes just as bright.

These children deserve a chance to express their potential and share their visions with the world.

Please support us at the Girls RiseUp Foundation in creating an unforgettable weekend for the Friends of Jesus Orphanage.

Through painting, chess games, art, and other enriching activities, we aim to uncover and celebrate their unique talents.

Let's come together to nurture their dreams and show them they are not alone.

Your support can transform their lives and give them the hope and encouragement they need.

Send us a message or put it in the comments section.

Through collaborative efforts and a comprehensive strategy, we can eliminate all forms of child abuse.

Staying silent because it hasn't affected us or our loved ones is dangerous; abuse can spread quickly and impact anyone at any time.

Join us in raising our voices to say NO to every form of child abuse.

Children who are abused often retreat into a fortress of silence, their voices smothered by fear and anguish.

As advocates, we must learn to read the unspoken sorrow in their expressions and the heavy silence that surrounds them.

Their silence is a language of its own, a call for help that we must heed.

By recognizing their suffering and speaking out on their behalf, we can offer them the hope and protection they desperately need, giving voice to the voiceless and breaking the chains of their torment.

Children who endure abuse face a journey that scars their innocence and stains their spirits.

Behind their smiles, they carry burdens too heavy for their tender shoulders, enduring pain that no child should ever know.

Abuse shatters trust, leaving behind fragments of fear and anguish. It steals their laughter, replacing it with silent tears that echo in the depths of their souls.

It is my duty and your duty to shield these vulnerable souls, to build an environment where their laughter can flourish and their dreams can soar without fear of being shattered.

Let us join hands in a one-week journey of action, standing as signs of hope against the darkness of abuse.

On the 6th of March 2024, I had an interactive session with Crane School College students on GROOMING /SEXUAL ABUSE under the GIRLS RISEUP FOUNDATION

Through open discussion, I enlightened the students on how grooming can lead to sexual abuse and the ways to prevent it before it gets to the stage of sexual abuse.

Additionally, I cited the significance of breaking the silence surrounding sexual abuse, emphasizing the need for victims to feel supported and heard when sharing their experiences.

Furthermore, I discussed with them, the concept of consent, boundaries, and respectful relationships, where I displayed some insightful videos on the ways to recognize and address instances of abuse in their own lives and within their communities.

Ultimately, the interactive section served as a platform for students to not only deepen their understanding of sexual abuse but also to become advocates for change, contributing to the creation of safer and more supportive environments for all.

I am an ardent advocate against female sexual abuse in rural areas. However, I believe that just creating informative sessions to curb sexual abuse can never be enough hence creating an empowerment scheme to keep these girls economically stable will do more good.

But then, what if we successfully create awareness and empower these girls in rural areas with 21st-century skills and they can stand up for themselves and even for others, but there is no planet to live in?

In that case, protecting our planet is the core responsibility of every individual and every organization regardless of your focus. While we raise warriors to stand up against female sexual abuse, we must also train them to stand up against our planet's abuse.

Now over to you, within your circle, in your place of work and your organization, what steps are you taking to ensure we have a place to live tomorrow? It doesn't have to be BIG, but you must be doing something.

I participated in the storytelling base camp, organised by Hammed Kayode Alabi. During the base camp, I discovered that everyone is indeed an embodiment of stories, we just lack the right techniques. Kayode emphasized that the lack of a "big" story shouldn't be an excuse, as our lives are filled with impactful narratives.

However, to effectively convey a message, some techniques are indispensable such as presenting the challenges, making choices, and showcasing the outcomes.

Temi Badru, the second speaker, shared how neglecting to tell one's story can lead to missed opportunities. This motivated me to share my story whenever possible, as Temi emphasized, "If you don't publish yourself, no one will."

During the panel discussion on the next day of the base camp, some prominent speakers like Aramide Kayode, Hammed Kayode Alabi, Azeezat Yishawu and Oluwaseun Kayode highlighted the impact quality storytelling had on their various fields.

However, in other to tell a quality story, we must take action. Just like Hammed Kayode Alabi would say, "If you don't do it, you won't have a story to tell." This reinforced the idea that taking action is essential for telling an inspiring story.

Thank you Hammed Kayode Alabi, Kayode Alabi Leadership and Career Initiative - KLCI and Watson Institute for creating a platform for young change-makers like myself to learn and relearn a better way of impacting our various communities.

On the 16th and 17th of November, 2023, my very supportive team and I matched to the Epe community of Lagos State to advocate not only against sexual abuse but to train the girls in the community on how they can be economically stable to limit their vulnerability to being sexually abused.

Epe Generally hospital and Mocped International secondary school received us warmly.

To to YALI network and American consulate, we say thank you for your financial and moral support.
Indeed it was a great privilege putting smiles on the faces of the vulnerable.

On the 12th of September 2023 was the day I knew my dream was valid.

For the first time, I had the privilege of pitching a project that has been a burden in my heart to a group of talented young Nigerians under the umbrella of the Yali Network Lagos branch.

Out of the four representatives, I was the only female, while others had their projects on climate change; my project was multifaceted in the sense that it had different approaches. The main goal was to end female sexual abuse, but while doing that we intend to create a business model that can keep these girls in rural areas economically stable in other to reduce their vulnerability to sexual abuse

Luckily, two of us from the participants won $250 from the American Consulate to carry out our projects in our different communities. It was a big win for me for the year 2023 because it gave me a sense of credibility and assurance that my dream is very valid.

My next post will be centred on how the project was successfully executed by myself and my supportive team.

As much as it is important to speak against female sexual abuse, it is also important to empower these girls with skills to keep them economically stable, and thereby reduce the risk of their vulnerability to abuse.
