🦷 First full case 🦷 completed it mate

Incredibly I’ve now been a clinician at for 6 months!!! 6!!! But today was a very exciting day!
Fitted retainers to complete my case start to finish at the practice.

In order to straighten teeth safely, unfortunately it means orthodontics can be quite slow. We don’t get those instant results that everyone always wants.
However I really love being part of the journey and seeing those changes over time. The increase in confidence can be truly incredible.

Sometimes it’s just those little tweaks to make things perfect that finalise the smile 😀 😃

Natalie came to see me last year just wanting to straighten things up for her wedding.
Already having a stunning smile I knew it wouldn’t take much.

So we used SureSmile aligners to correct the mild crowding, whitened everything up and finished by replacing some old amalgam fillings in the back teeth.

Something very exciting started this week! ❤️

😱 Taking over orthodontic treatment from another clinician can always be a little daunting.

Everyone thinks differently, which is why one clinicians plan will inevitably be different from another. ⏱️

However I think we managed this one beautifully. Lexie was a trooper, keeping her braces on those extra few weeks to get everything right (sadly ruined her birthday brownies, but always next year 😁😁)

In this case we took an already lovely smile and made some small adjustments to the tooth positions.
We used upper and lower fixed labial braces and made some final tweaks with a few aligners.

Both myself and the patient were ecstatic with the results!

Orthodontics is not always about appearance (although it can be a very nice side effect).

This lovely patients front teeth were chipping and wearing at the edges telling us there was an underlying issue that needed resolved.

In this case we used aligner therapy to improve the bite and function before restoring the edges of the worn teeth with some simple composite bonding.

Had the best time at the at the weekend.
Listened to some proper inspirational speakers as well as meeting some awesome new colleagues!

Final little delve into the year.

A few weeks ago we returned from the most incredible trip to Japan. 🇯🇵

celebritycruises whipping us around the islands.
The entertainment was absolutely top notch. Big shout out to katei_violin who was incredible.

Went to the most mind blowing place in universal_studios_japan to see Super Nintendo World. Honestly like walking into a Mario game.

The tallest star bucks in the world in Korea

Art rooms in teamlab.planets which was so cool

All in all a destination I would most definitely recommend!

Had the most incredible time at the tajmaldives resort in the Maldives straight after the wedding.

Had a proper relax (find it hard to shut my brain off) so it was so so needed.

Sun ☀️ Sand 🏖️ and pina coladas🍹

Even found my way to swimming with a few sharks 🦈 and made a little bird friend 🦜

It’s not all about teeth!

This has been the most fantastic year so far. Getting married and going on 2 absolutely amazing trips away away for Honeymoon.

Another week over, but I think there is still time to appreciate another amazing transformation.

Over the last few weeks I’ve been sharing my favourite cases. And this one ranks high. Very high.

Margaret came to see me very unhappy with her smile and extremely nervous of the dentist.

So we put some fixed braces on to the teeth for 6 months to improve the alignment, stabilised the teeth, whitened them and finished with some beautiful porcelain work from visiondentalaboratory

We worked together for the best part of a year and the confidence this lady now exudes is incredible.

I have an absolute passion for orthodontics and ortho-restorative dentistry. Correcting those wonky teeth, off bites, spacing, snaggle teeth and all manner of orthodontic problems.

Orthodontics is just such an amazing tool in the toolbox. Moving teeth has so many benefits outside of just an improvement in appearance.

⭐️ can help correct any early tooth contacts causing tooth wear
⭐️ can create more space for the tongue, helping the airway and breathing (that is a whole other topic!)

But back to me sharing my favourite cases.
This is another amazing little ABB case.
Stacey came to see me not happy with the gap between her teeth. She took a little coaxing into some Ortho, rather than just closing it with composite.
But waowee 🥳 - results to die for
