🩶🪩GREY BLENDING🪩🩶

This lovely lady had been coming in for a regular toning service - where we’d been using the Schwarzkopf Igora Royal Silver Whites to cover up old grown out colour. Our aim is to have a seamless natural growth as we embrace our natural greys!
However - while this was the best coverage and longevity we have had out of these toners yet - we were feeling a little dull and flat! So we added some baby fine highlights and toned using a diluted silvers toner to create this seamless natural looking look 🤩

It had been 2 years since this lady last had her hair done professionally in a salon, but she had finally made a decision to drop the box dye and get a hair makeover 🙏🏻
We’re aiming to go lighter and brighter in the long run but again we understood (especially with pre existing box dye build up) that it’s a ✨process✨

Guess who’s bragging about not catching any of these nasty bugs over winter finally caught up with her!?🙋🏼‍♀️ therefore I’m using my time productivity to get the socials updated!

This one’s from a couple weeks back! We’ve been doing a peek-a-boo colour panel underneath this beauty’s hair, however we’re getting married next year so it’s time to slowly start moving towards something much more natural looking!

A mix of highlight and balyaging techniques helped us to achieve this natural highlighted look! We’re aiming to go brighter and blonder, but we know it’s a process from all the colours we’ve been!

This miserable weather!?🥶 means only one thing…

We’re slowly getting into the “I want to brighten it up” appointments as we start to yearn for spring and warmer brighter days!! 😩

This lovely lady usually opts for a lived in balayage look for low maintenance and plenty of depth through the top, this time we switched it up and went light and bright all over and I am IN LOVE 😍

This week me and one of my lovely clients were having a chat about self confidence and how much your hair can affect it!
We also had a conversation about how important it is that your stylist should be friendly and approachable..

Ashley thought she wanted to go lighter and brighter, however after leaving the salon decided that in fact she was not feeling herself.

Ladies, we live in a generation of “yes, it looks great” *internally, I don’t like it but I’m too afraid to tell my stylist*
(and let’s not even mention the *runs and grabs box dye to cover it* women!)

Please, never be afraid to tell us as your stylist what you do and don’t like! That’s the only way we will get you feeling and looking your best!
Trust me, we won’t be mad, we’ll know what not to do for next time, and in fact we’ll feel even better knowing we nailed it the second time! ✨

GALAXY HAIR 🌌🪐✨

This lovely lady has been itching to go for a bold change for a while, this week we did it! With existing red buildup underneath we knew we wouldn’t get a super clean lift, but we worked with what we had and used loads of deep tones 😍

This lady was feeling too bright and too brassy, so we decided to tone it down a little and tackle some of the warmth, unfortunately a private water supply made this a little tricky - but we worked with what we had! 🤍

We wanted something a bit more grunge (especially for BMTH) so this is what we came up with 🤟🏻

Another all time fave this week 😍🦋💜

So we started with a BRIGHT head of pink - which thankfully cleansed out like a DREAM. She wanted blues, purples and turquoise, and we DELIVERED 😍

My clients paint of choice is Directions and I can see why because that colour pay off 😍🎨

Officially gained a certification in Modern Barbering 🥳✂️💈

Those of you who know me, will know this is a skill I’ve been wanted to get behind me for the best part of a year or so, so kicking off 2024 to a great start!

Full head of highlights to brighten up this pretty lady - followed by a sharp trim to try and thicken up her lengths 🤍

Ok, BLACK BOX DYE, let’s talk about it..

This wee beauty had been black box dying her hair for years, which can mean only one thing COLOUR BUILDUP😬

Upon consultation we discussed that we would expect to see a lot of banding, and probably still a lot of colour through those ends that would be difficult to budge, we decided we wanted to go a warmer toned brown, but still having some lighter pieces showing..

After a cleanse of the ends we managed to remove some of that build up, but we didn’t want to push so far to compromise the condition. We then followed with a full head of foils and an inbetween colour. As you can see we have a little way to go with some of these stubborn ends which don’t seem to want to let go of that old colour, but we’re already miles away from where we started 😍

A few more cleansing sessions and hopefully we’ll be closer to our end goal! But LET THIS BE A LESSON - please don’t reach for the black box dye ladies 😩

Hello everyone, I just wanted to do a quick post to introduce myself!

my name is Nikki and I am currently working as a Stylist at RM Hair Studio in Inverurie.

I started my hairdressing journey studying at NESCOL in Aberdeen at the age of 24. I previously studied Media and Communications and received my bachelors degree in Media at RGU. So this has gone hand in hand with helping me run my own social media’s and marketing! I gained my VRQ level 3 in hairdressing officially (after a very prolonged last year - thank you Covid!) in the beginning of 2022.

I have now been working on the salon floor for just over a year! ☺️ having just passed 2 years at RM Hair! Having started my journey as a salon assistant/front of house!

I love cutting, colouring and doing hairups, but creative and vibrant colours are what really get me excited! 😍

I’ve also had quite the hair journey myself, having had a wide range of colours I often change it up! Between different colours, cut and even extensions! My favourite will always be dark/blonde contrast combos though! 😍🖤🤍
