The number one reason folks are unhappy with their spaces...I bet it's not what you think:
The Number One Reason People Are Unhappy With Their Spaces The #1 reason I believe most people are unhappy with their spaces is that they haven’t taken the time to TRULY understand what they need fro
Happy decade, my darling!
Ten years ago today we said “WE DO!” We didn’t know what this marriage thing would be when we started, and who knows what great adventures the next ten years will have for us—but what I do know is that I love you, that I loved doing life with you, growing up with you, laughing with you, changing with you, learning with and from you, and supporting each other in our wild dreams.
I’ve said this before, but ours has been the defining relationship of my life. I’m more me because of you. Thank you for the gift of who you are. I’m so proud of you, and us 💞
HAPPY TEN!!!!
(Shouts out to for these fantastic ten year pix. She and I ALSO celebrated ten years shooting together this year. Hire her and give her all your money because her pix are some of my most prized possessions 🥰🥰🥰)

A "Grown Up" Main Floor Furniture Plan for a Rockford Family of Four :)
A "Grown Up" Main Floor Furniture Plan for a Rockford Family of Four Folks, I have to issue an apology because while I always intend to blog recap my day sessions, I almost ALWAYS forget to take before photos. Like, it's the worst and a terrible habit - but so much happens during a day session that I way to often forget. I WILL DO BETTER!!! But alas, I do not have be...
Well, hi 😊 I’m Lauren, the gal behind .co, and this little corner of instagram is where I highlight some of the fun things I get to do as an interior designer, business owner, and human 😊
We moved from Grand Rapids to Southeast Michigan over three years ago now—where has the time gone!?—and work wise, I split my time between West Michigan and the Metro Detroit area.
Anyhow…while design can sometimes seem a little surfacy, ultimately it’s about people, how they live, what they need, and what their people need.
A handful of years back, I worked with my friend and business coach, Mark Drane ( on Facebook) to narrow in on my core values, not just as a business, but as a person. Here’s what I came up with:
1) Be courageous
2) Curiosity, respect, honesty, & kindness go hand in hand
3) We try things here
4) Always be learning, creating, sharing, & serving
Every aspect of the design process takes COURAGE, both for myself and for my clients. It can be scary to let someone take the reins on such a personal project! And, it can be scary to do that FOR someone, too!
Which is why value #2 is soooo important. As long as we are being curious and honest with each other in a way that is respectful and kind, there’s no way we can’t succeed in creating a great space together.
#3, “We try things here”…this is probably the value that has made all the difference. I am constantly trying new things, often failing at them, then reiterating, and trying new things again. This is how we grow! And, it’s also a lot of fun. So if we work together, I’ll probably ask you to try a few new things, whether it’s as big as pushing your style boundaries, or as small as trying out a new layout.
And #4: “Always be learning, creating, sharing, & serving.” I never want to become stagnant in my work or in my personal life. I want to see my style, processes, & ability to serve clients well evolve and grow, and I want to share that with you!
SO. It’s great to meet you :) Thanks for hanging out with me here! And if you want to hang out in real life—and maybe work on a project too—shoot me a DM and I’ll send you some info.
XO, Lauren

Some fun details I learned about our house from a previous owner today!
A Little History on Our 1840s Farmhouse If you saw my instagram story a few days ago, I had shared that the owners of our house two owners back left me a voicemail saying they’d love to share some of the history of the house and what things they tackled while they were here. I was obviously floored at this connection, and we had a delig...
CUTE ALERT 🥰 Hung my new painting from ! The red inlay on the frame is almost an exact match to the color...love! Also apparently while hanging it I smudged sunscreen on my wallpaper 🫣 but with a little I was able to get it out 😅 Seriously love this stuff 💪 ( ...but it could be 😬). What do you think of the painting?!

A golden nugget of design wisdom:
Discover the Secret to Perfect Room Proportions: The Rule of Thirds Have you ever walked into a room and felt instantly at ease, where every element seems to fall perfectly into place? Or perhaps you've encountered spaces that feel awkward, despite being beautifully decorated. The difference often lies in one crucial design principle—scale. Scale, the relationship...
Our dining room after move in / when we walked through. Sometimes it just takes a little reimagining to make a space yours ✨
A few after and before shots of our bedroom. When we first saw the house, we weren't sure which bedroom we were going to make our primary, partially because since the house is so old (1847), the closet situation is a little lacking 😅 when we first saw this space, it was being used as a quasi guestroom / almost had the feeling of an attic space. But, I could see that the actual footprint of the room was quite large despite the lower ceilings and a-frame. I had a feeling with some clever space planning, we could get this room feeling quite cozy.
We turned the attached room (probably at one point intended to be a nursery) into a dressing room with a des to act as a make up vanity, and added cute racks and a dresser for clothing storage. We even had enough space to create a little sitting area in the main bedroom as well.
These photos are before we got our new bedframe/headboard and bedside lamps, but they do a good job of showing the layout nonetheless. I also decided to paint all of the walls and ceilings white so that the color wasn't breaking up the space so much anymore. I was also surprised at how much natural light the room gets despite there being only one window in the main part of the bedroom.
Pretty cozy 🥰

She has my heart 💗🥹 Like many dog parents, we got Ruby's DNA tested, and turns out she is a decent amount . These are fantastic dogs that were bred to be guardians for farm animals, and I can assure you that the "guarding" instinct has remain strong in this one 👀 Her favorite activities include watching out the window (we call this "watching TV") and sitting on top of our back yard hill to survey the neighboring field. In our home, I make a lot of design choices with this four-legged girlie in mind - from vintage rugs that don't mind dirty paws, to stain resistant fabrics, to plenty of cozy spots to lay and "watch TV". Happy dog, happy life 😂 am I right!?
A few kind words from a few kind clients 😊 These three fantastic folks worked with me via Designed in a Day sessions, which are hands down my most popular service. We Lost Power & Internet for 2 Days During Last Week's Snow Storm...So I Redesigned Our Kitchen To Curb the Boredom 😂 😂 😂 Many of you know that I live in kiiiind of the middle of nowhere - southeast Michigan in the rural space in-between Fenton and Clarkston, Michigan. It's a big change from our last house in walkable and active Heritage Hill, Grand Rapids! We don't get cell service in our house (believe me - we've tri...
