Thanks to those of you who have already donated leftover Halloween candy to be shipped to servicemen and women overseas! ππ¬π«I will be taking donations of leftover candy until November 11th so let me know if anyone else would like to donate. I am also still taking names for the two $100 gift cards that I will be drawing names for on November 11th, for City Market groceries. As a reminder, especially now during cold and flu season, please please please reschedule your appointment if you are experiencing cold and flu symptoms. I have recently had two clients reschedule due to covid and several others that have mentioned that they recently had some other yucky bugs. π¦ π¦ π¦
I follow strict disinfecting practices, but you never know. I would rather someone cancel on short notice than to show up sick to my studio. Thank you for understanding! ππβ€οΈ

This is infuriating to me, and AGAIN, the public needs educated about what massage is and isn't. If we are ever to overcome this stigma, ALL massage business operations need to be Professionally licensed and insured (vetted) as professional therapists. π‘

Ahhhh Summer! β±οΈ
π‘οΈChronic pain sufferers sometimes report that their pain is more severe in extreme heat. Massage Therapy can help with that.
π©΄ More activity and lack of arch support in summer footwear can cause plantar fasciitis and lower back and hip pain. Massage Therapy can help with that.
βΎ Rotator cuff injuries and ACL strains and tears are common among baseball players. Massage Therapy can help with that.
βΊSleeping in a tent can lead to back pain that can make camping not very much fun. Massage Therapy can help with that.
πSwimmers sometimes get what's called "swimmer's shoulder" including limited range of motion. Massage Therepy can help with that.
If you're experiencing any of these summertime issues, consider Massage Therapy as a way to help keep you active and doing all the things that you love during this time of year! πππΊπΈ

Hi friends! I apologize for the lengthy post! (: I had a new client mention to me, off the cuff the other day, that they couldn't understand why I couldn't get them in right away. When they drove by my house and studio they didn't see cars in the driveway, and they said that I must not really be "that busy". I laughed it off in the moment, but I wanted to take an opportunity to educate the community about having a massage practice, or any other business at your home. I have a full schedule, whether or not I am actively seeing a client on the table. There are two days during the business week that I take off of seeing clients physically. One of those days consists of doing all of my client notes for the week, cleaning my studio for the week, sitting through continuing ed workshops, ordering supplies, taking care of laundry, answering emails and phone calls, organizing tax papers, unboxing shipments and putting supplies away... I could go on and on. The other day during the business week I take off for personal and self care. That might include going to occupational therapy because of an overuse injury that I currently have, or a Dr. or Dental appointment or banking...it might be doing yoga, it might be getting my own massage or taking a really long walk with my dog. It's just as essential and necessary as seeing clients. I am able to be a better Therapist and give each client more of myself because of the self-care that I practice. All of this is in addition to being a wife and mother and a daughter who very often helps care for her parents. Please understand that this is coming from a place of love and honesty. I just want everyone to understand, if you've been curious, why it takes time to get on my schedule, and why at times I have a waiting list. The constant connection of social media has people calling me or messaging me after normal business hours, sometimes as late as 10:30 or 11:00 at night to discuss my business and my schedule, it can be very taxing and exhausting when a person can't have space between their home life and their business. I felt that my privacy had been invaded somewhat when that comment was made. Because I work on the same property where I reside, I need to have a place of privacy. Please please show Grace to your practitioners, and more importantly, show it to yourself. And if you're not practicing self-care please find ways to incorporate that into your week. And also don't feel guilty about needing it and taking it. It makes a difference in the way that you care for others. I love my clients! Most of them are so generous with their understanding. It's why I do what I do ππβ€οΈ
March is my favorite month! I love that spring is coming! I love that we get to set our clocks forward (Set your clocks forward before bed this Saturday night, March 12th!) and the extra daylight that that will provide, and I love that the weather is still cool enough that I can use hot stones on every single one of my clients, at no extra charge. If you didn't already know, I have my hot Stones ready and waiting for every client. While full body hot stone massages carry a fee, complimentary 10 minutes of hot stone included with every full body massage is just one luxurious surprise that I think everyone deserves! I'm so lucky to have the wonderful clients that I have!

If you haven't checked out Balcony Botanicals yet, go do it! I use their facial products every day! Kristi puts so much care into her products, from using her own farm grown lavender (right here on Stucker Mesa,) to batching her items by lot number and expiration date. Not to mention her sustainable packaging! You can't get more fresh or local than that! I highly recommend Balcony Botanicals! πΏ
