Call for Volunteers!! After months of trying to get a large truck, we finally have one for the next week and we need LOTS of hands to help receive donations!

We need help between the hours of noon and 7PM tomorrow and Friday July 8th through Wednesday July 13th. This includes over the weekend. We would like to schedule volunteers for chunks of time depending on availability so we have enough help for each truckload.

Without help, this task will be extremely physically taxing for the small core hawkwing team who struggles to move these items due to physical disabilities. Please call/text 860-335-9596 to let us know which days you would be available to help and what timeframes you are free. We really, really need all hands on deck to move these vital donations in!

This work is truly vital to helping the community. We truly thank you for the generosity of your time and help with this! We will have snacks and drinks for volunteers.

This week we did our very first Wawokiye Tipi in Hartford. It was an incredible day! About 300 people came and got to pick out brand new items. People couldn’t believe it was free and open to everyone. It was afternoon of filled with smiles and laughter. Thank you to Laura at Trinity College and Carlos at Trinity College Trinfo.Café for hosting the give away and for all the work you and your students did to help! Thank you to our board members and volunteers who have worked hard to make this happen! Thank you to our donors and partners for supporting our work! We were so excited to be able to donate dog swimming pools and cooling mats to New Britain Police for Pups for their absolutely adorable pups before the heatwave!! A huge thank you to Leah, an incredible local animal advocate & rescuer, for helping bring these treats to the puppies! We hope that these pools help to cool off the pups throughout the summer!
