A few weeks ago, while wandering through the familiar streets of my hometown, I was drawn to an old, familiar sight just near my former home. It was a magnificent tree, standing tall and proud, but what caught my eye was its transformation. The leaves, in a beautiful medley of red, orange, and yellow, were on the cusp of their final bow, preparing to grace the ground with their presence.
This ephemeral beauty struck a chord in me. Just like the tree, we too go through seasons of change. As the leaves fall, making way for new growth, it reminded me that in our lives, certain things and even people may drift away. It's a natural process, a necessary one, for our personal growth and renewal.
So, if you're in a season of transition, remember, it's just that, a season. It's not permanent. Like the tree shedding its leaves, we let go of the old to make room for the new. It's okay to feel the loss, but also, embrace the beauty in this cycle of life.
As the leaves fall, let's remind ourselves: every change, every goodbye, is setting the stage for a new beginning, a fresh start. Let’s not despair nor unravel. Seasons change for reasons, often leading us to new growth and unforeseen paths.
Hold tight through the transitions. Just like the tree, you're preparing for something beautiful.
Yesterday was a day that felt nothing short of surreal. As I kneeled down before my induction plaque, a cascade of emotions washed over me. It was a moment of deep reflection on 33 years of unwavering sacrifices and seeds diligently sown. This plaque is not a grave marker that remains unseen; rather, it's a living testament to the contributions I've been blessed to make to our culture and the kingdom of God.
I’m smiling, not just for the honor, but because it was my namesake who unveiled this honor. Surrounded by my daughters, I couldn't help but envision a future where my grandchildren and great-grandchildren would visit Atlanta and see this plaque. They'll know that their grandfather was more than just a pastor or singer. I was a beacon, a light on a hill that refused to be hidden.
This journey has been marked by both my flaws and my submission, a testament to a life lived fully in His grace. I stand here, overwhelmed by gratitude for the favor He's bestowed upon me.
As I express my heartfelt thanks to those who chose to honor me, () from those very same lips, I declare that all glory and praise belong to Him. This moment is not just about a personal milestone; it's about a life lived in service to something far greater than oneself.
Love speaks in multiple languages. For some women, it's the assurance of provision, a secure foundation and safety. For many men, it's standing tall with respect and honor. How can we bridge this understanding? By listening to ancient wisdom. Solomon once said the heart of a man is unlocked with genuine honor. Let’s reflect on Proverbs 21:9 NLT, "It's better to live alone in the corner of an attic than with a quarrelsome wife in a lovely home." Embrace the power of respect and watch your love story unfold beautifully. ”
Today was an emotional day. I was only home for a few hours and my baby girl got into a major accident however she walked away with minor scratches and bruises. Because I'm a single dad with global ministry responsibility my daily prayers is cover my children God as I do your will and he did just that...
Recently, I've embarked on a profound journey, traveling extensively over the past few weeks to places I once called home, both physically and in the corridors of my mind. Each destination, a stark reflective mirror, unearthing memories long tucked away. It's often said that time heals all wounds, but at times, it merely veils them from our immediate sight. Venturing into these hauntingly familiar realms can indeed brew a storm of stress, underlining the vital necessity to be "Anchored in His Care". 🙏 Tomorrow, at 7:30pm CST, I invite you to join me on any of my social media platforms. We'll delve deep into the importance of casting anxieties rather than gripping them tightly. Hopefully we are all working on a project, and that project is a renewed, healed version of ourselves.
In today's culture, many associate gifts with a lifestyle. But if the only time you dine at five-star restaurants or wear designer brands is when it's funded by someone else, remember: it's not your lifestyle; you've just been treated or gifted. Lifestyle isn't about the brands you wear or the places you frequent, but how consistently you can maintain them on your own. Desire better yes, aim higher, but always stay grounded in your true reality. Only then can you truly own your lifestyle and not merely borrow it. Elevate yourself, not their possessions. Spoiling moments are lovely, but a true lifestyle is consistent and self-sustained.
