The math of the mechanisms for elections don't math what the donor class, Dem elites, and others running their mouth are saying.
We can get these people in line. We need to make some calls!

Reposted from Claudia Sheinbaum, an environmental scientist and former mayor of Mexico City, was overwhelmingly elected Mexico’s first female president on Sunday, a historic milestone in a country rife with gender-based violence and misogyny.

With nearly 40% of the votes counted, Mexico’s electoral agency estimates that Sheinbaum is on track to win the race with between 58% to over 60% of votes. Her nearest rival, Xóchitl Gálvez is projected to get between 26% and 28% of the vote, with the other opposition candidate, Jorge Álvarez Máynez, between 9%-10% of the vote.

In her victory speech to supporters, Sheinbaum said both rivals had conceded and had called to congratulate her on her victory. “I will become the first woman president of Mexico”, she told the crowd.

The man widely seen as her political mentor, outgoing President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, posted his congratulations on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Sheinbaum has been the leading candidate to win the presidency for more than a year. In a country with one of the highest rates of murder against women in the world, Sheinbaum’s victory underscores the advances women have made in the political sphere.

The 61-year old climate scientist was part of the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change team that would go on to share a Nobel Peace Prize with former U.S. Vice President Al Gore in 2007. Now, Sheinbaum — whose has grandparents who escaped the Holocaust — will hold the most powerful office in the country.

Despite the historic nature of Sheinbaum’s victory, many voters in Mexico see it less as a reflection of gender equality and more as a referendum on the last six years of López Obrador, colloquially known by his initials as AMLO.

He is one of the most divisive — and popular — figures in Mexican history: a folksy populist who has implemented social programs that have lifted millions of people out of poverty but who critics say has undermined democratic institutions while empowering the military.

Under Mexico’s constitution, presidents can only serve one six-year term.

I had to fix it.
How irresponsible to repost this with nothing on it.
I have no idea how people who look like me are allowing themselves to be used this way.
He is an organized crime boss, but not as a marginalized person oppressed by this system.
As usual, he is exploiting people's ignorance.
The money you all attribute to him came from the Obama/BIDEN administration!
Gotta be a bot or a fake account.
Meta needs to be more responsible to leverage their tech to remove these accounts.
It's bad enough that the media keeps giving this man free publicity just like they did last time, and the Dems are not letting people know the truth of what they have done.
Once again, there is a binary choice. Rank choice voting and other solutions are solutions for future elections, not now. We will not have any more elections if that man gets in again. Learn from how other "democracies" have lost their form of government.

I disagree with .
It's not about having no expectations. It's about not being attached to certain outcomes.
I notice that people are definitely wound up in their expectations of outcomes.
Humans will have expectations. It's the entitlement to upset that needs to be released in my view.
We are not robots. I wish we would stop desiring to be robots.
Pivot more, tantrum less.

It really is caste, to which Isabel Wilkerson points. All -isms are symptoms of caste born of pride.

disorientalizing

representation is not liberation

we don’t need more muslim cops, more women bombing countries abroad, more people of color doing the work of a deeply corrupt government. we don’t need rainbow imperialism or a diversity equity inclusion in raytheon.

billionaires are billionaires regardless of color. war criminals are war criminals regardless of gender. imperialists are imperialists no matter what identity politics you use to make excuses for it.

do not feed into the ruling class’s use of identity politics. there is nothing progressive about people from marginalized groups doing the dirty work of empire.

stop telling yourself we will be free when we see X group represented in X oppressive position.

liberation comes from connection to community. it comes from a love for your people. it comes from realizing that collaboration with oppressive entities like the government holds nothing but more harm for us.

when we only talk about race and gender with a complete disregard for class analysis, we buy into these ideologies that cause us to justify the ruling class’s crimes against the people just because of idpol.

when education is not liberating, the dream of the oppressed is to become the oppressor. ~ paulo freire

Some things I have been watching lately.
They seem like great sisters to me... a great depiction of how messy family can be and still be in relationship...
Wednesday reminds me of why I like the Addams family although this takes it to a contemporary take.
For me, both depict using one's power for Good and not selfish purposes.
Oh, and I agree with Walker on one thing, werewolves are nothing to mess with!

Not just marriage --- I have got say this applies to any relationship that one values. I have sought to be this in my friendships that are romantic, parenting and familial. Whether people exploit that or not is on them. I learn more about that person through that experience and sometimeshave to make different choices about our bond.

I have to be me because I grow stronger in who I am by honoring who I am despite how some attempt to exploit my values - the true way of integrity. Through that I have grown better and not bitter because I am not being me by honoring who I am.

As talks about, what we're experiencing is not episodic. Please learn or unlearn what you need to, so you can help to effect a transformation of our society to being truly anti-racist. Our Bennetton ad notions of society aren't changing a thing.
If you value diversity and still think some people are beneath you or meant to be mules of what should be your labor, we still have a deep problem.
Unfortunately, some people are very comfortable with apartheid, especially when the lines are drawn on money.

I have been saying this for a long time.
I hope it is a sign that major media is moving away from hype... Nah, they will never do that when the profit motive is so high, and the average consumer has no clue. 🤦🏽‍♀️🙄😞

05/06/2022

Everyone needs to learn to keep this in check...
In an interview with on today, Bob Woodward quoted a note from Katharine Graham, Watergate era owner and publisher of The Washington Post, saying, "Beware of the demon pomposity".
Yep.... 💯🖖🏽

Still not a reason to feel that one is better than another.
Understanding that could inform better choices that don't perpetuate harm/abuse.

For those who don't know when enough is enough, when one exploits others to have it... How about then? 🤷🏽‍♀️

In a small example, in another venue I posted my frustration with people shortening my last name.
At my new training center, right after our initial conversation, the person (owner of the gym) who did my assessment used my whole name and apologized for not putting in the hyphen! He brought it up, I was consumed with prepping for a new exercise program! I love when I am reminded that humanity still resides!
Such honor... he called it "attention to detail". I call it honor, and I don't experience it often enough.

Our Story

I decided to finally launch Defying Gravity Radio on April 1, 2015. I believe that God gave me a particular message throughout the years and I have finally learned what I needed to live out what has been a rock and a hard place existence. I have a heart to introduce people to the accessibility of Jesus Christ of the Bible. I want to encourage those who have felt hindered because of our sometimes poor representation of our Savior, run away from the church because of an inability to worship with liberty, too smart to have faith and countless other reasons.

I grew up in a family of church leadership. I recently learned that my grandfather and his brother started 30 churches in Jamaica and is 80+ years old with locations all over the world. I never remember hearing the self righteous pontificating that seems to pervade those who call themselves Christian leadership in certain quarters across many denominations. I have also been shocked to learn of the disrespect of Christians by those who call themselves thinkers.

If you would like a primer for Defying Gravity Radio and to understand my heart about this, please listen to this introductory show: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/defyinggravity/2015/04/09/why-defying-gravity-radio

I learned of the ministry of Lee Grady while attending a great training and equipping center, The Well Christian Community in Dublin, CA (location at the time). When I attended a conference on my birthday in 2010 I was a seriously broken vessel, fit for the fire. After he was ministering with many people tired from travel, the Lord gave him something for me.

The community of the Mordecai Project's Bold Ventures is encouraging and catapulting!

I seek to follow the Mordecai Project (http://www.themordecaiproject.org/welcome/) Values:

1. Biblical Integrity. As a Christian organization we base our beliefs and practices on the Bible. We believe Jesus Christ commanded us to demonstrate His love and forgiveness not only by preaching the gospel but also by showing compassion to the poor and the marginalized.
2. Gender Equality. We believe God created males and females as equals, and that men and women are equally called to serve Him by using their God-given spiritual gifts. We believe the church suffers today because Christian leaders often devalue, neglect or ignore the spiritual callings of women.
3. Servant Leadership. We believe ministry leaders reflect Jesus best when they display a humble attitude. This means leaders should never dominate, control, abuse, mistreat or manipulate the people they lead. Neither should they have an attitude of superiority or entitlement nor should they demand special treatment.
4. Christ-Like Character. Leadership requires accountability. Ministry leaders must be examples of integrity, humility, truthfulness, sexual purity, marital faithfulness, spiritual maturity and sincere love. We will uphold biblical standards of personal holiness while at the same time offering forgiveness and restoration to anyone who falls.
5. Relational Discipleship. The most effective way to develop mature Christian leaders is through genuine, personal mentoring. Following the example of Paul and Timothy, leaders should seek out younger people to disciple and then train them, include them in ministry activities, encourage them and expect them to surpass their own success.
6. Racial Diversity. The church best reflects God's heart when various races and ethnic groups are in close fellowship. God desires to reach all tribes, language groups and cultures with the gospel. The church should be passionately proactive about breaking racial barriers and building multicultural ministries.
7. Holy Spirit Empowerment. We believe it is absolutely imperative that everything we do in ministry is carried out with dependence on the Holy Spirit's power and direction.
