Happy 139th Birthday to the inventor of the Original New Orleans style Hot Tamale 1923....The owner of the first ALL Mexican cuisine restaurant in New Orleans "El Ranchito" 1946...The husband of our namesake, Rosa "Mamita" Guzman Hernandez.....and the man I was named after...My Grandfather Bernardo Villafuerte Hernandez. Just to let everyone know...I'll be answering messages in the order they were recieved.

Sorry for making y'all wait an extra day, but it's because this is the hardest post I've ever composed.
After losing 2 months of sales during the beginning of the pandemic...2 hurricane seasons with over 10 cones of uncertainty equalling almost 12 weeks of lost sales...The ever rising costs of raw materials...The lack of people willing to WORK.... the death knell of my beloved Tacoma (mule) being stolen...and some inter-company personal reasons...

Mamita's Hot Tamales will be
SHUTTING DOWN FOR GOOD.

There is still some inventory left to be sold.....about 150 doz. Beef,and 15-20 doz. Corn.
The plan is to produce and freeze the remainder of this inventory and put on Social media for sale. If you are interested in these last batches

Hoping that those of you who got through Ida with minimal damage are getting back to normal and praying for those of you who were in her direct path. To our folks especially,our thoughts and prayers are with you and we do plan to do something special for y'all in the near future.
We are getting back in the kitchen and plan to be on the streets at least 1 day this week.Thinking about Thursday or Friday because we have a catering gig on Saturday night.
