March 10, 2024 9 children were baptized at church. It was a great service.
Today we celebrate the Ordination and Installation of Consistory members with Rev. Kent Busman. Kendall Stanley was ordained as and Elder and installed for a four-year term. Tracy Smith was ordained as a Deacon and installed for a four-year term. Debbie Barbato was installed as a Deacon to fill the remaining three years of an unexpired term.
The Congregation also extends its profound thanks to Jill Edwards, Elder and Carmine Galtieri, Deacon for their service on Consistory during the last four years.
May we all feel the Spirit in the wind around us today and share our "plus sized" faith, hope, and grace with those we encounter this week.
Every Friday afternoon, general secretary Eddy Alemán hosts a Zoom call for pastors to pray together.
Retired minister Don Poest has been attending since the beginning—and has every intention of continuing, he says.
“It’s a standing date on my calendar and very few things bump it off. Why do I value this so highly? I’ve been the recipient of the prayers of others and I know how much this meant to me. I know that Eddy and his staff value prayer, and I value them. Prayer with others is a tangible way I can support this denomination that I love. And praying with others from around the world (we consistently have a sister from Argentina pray with us) gives me a preview of eternity to come. Praying with others unleashes the power of God, and I’m so glad God invites me to join in!”
“As a former special education teacher serving preschool through secondary age students, disability advocacy has always been extremely important to me. … I was asked to serve on an RCA committee created to discuss the value of advocacy in the church. It was in this committee that the idea of having an individual in each church to oversee the needs of individuals and families living with disabilities was born.
“When, upon our retirement and subsequent move to a new RCA church home, I was asked by a pastor how I might become involved in that church, my response was ‘to facilitate the needs of individuals and families living with children with disabilities.’

The Commission on Nominations nominates members of the Reformed Church in America for election by the General Synod to its commissions, agencies, and boards. All confessing members of the RCA (ministers, commissioned pastors, and laypersons) are eligible to serve.
The Commision on Nominations is called to identify diverse and healthy leaders—inclusive with respect to geography, gender, age, cultural and social diversity, and academic or other appropriate expertise—for service in the church. Willing individuals and completed profiles are essential in this effort.
A brief description of each commission, agency, and board appears below. Service involves meeting a few times a year either in person or by videoconference. Terms are generally two terms of three years each, beginning on July 1.
Please consider whether service on any of these bodies is something to which God is calling you. If it is, please provide the Commission on Nominations with information about yourself by submitting a profile form!
