There is power on the other side of suffering.

So often we get so in tune with suffering we forget there is another side to suffering.

In the midst of that suffering what I find so helpful to do is to intentionally tune into the glimmers of life.

It is in those micro moments of joy and peace and safety, that I find my strength to see the vision on the other side of suffering.

Yes, it is true that when we signed up for this thing called life, we agreed that suffering would be a part of it.

But we get to choose how long we stay in suffering. By intentionally choosing to tune into glimmers, we can choose to step out of suffering no matter what chaos is happening around us.

I find glimmers are the secret sauce to finding the power, breakthrough, and vision that is on the other side of suffering.

What do you find helpful to get you on the other side of suffering?

What if you're not falling apart, but falling together?

So often when things around us are falling down, we feel like we're falling apart.

But what if in the messiness of life, you're not falling apart, but actually falling together.

Happy Sunday!

πŸ¦ƒOn this thanksgiving morning may I suggest taking 30 seconds.

Disconnect from your mind.

Let go of your thanksgiving preparation list for just 30 seconds

And connect to your heart.

Place your hand on your heart and imagine your breath is flowing in and out of your heart.

For 30 seconds contemplate at least one thing you feel grateful for.

Breathe in the gratitude and go about your day.

Happy Thanksgiving!πŸ¦ƒ

Good morning on this soggy Florida day. I was greeted by my daughter's rose bush this morning and had to share.

This was a great reminder to take 30 seconds this morning to connect to your heart and breathe in the good things in life.

I find that connecting to my heart and breathing in the good, sets the tone for my day. Let me know in the comments what you experience.

I've read this verse 1000 times and only focused on the fact that it meant that I needed to have more faith... Then I beat myself up for not having enough faith... But when I read it THIS time, what caught my attention was what we SAY. The words we SPEAK out loud along with our belief is the thing that moves the mountains!

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Mark 11:23

I heard the question asked once again today. After raising 2 children into adulthood and my last one being in high school, also volunteering with the youth in my church I keep hearing the same question from our kids.

If I wasn't here, would anyone notice that I was gone?

Many of them don't feel suicidal, but they also don't feel seen. They don't feel heard.

You see, we come from a generation where we had to obtain information from our parents, libraries, encyclopedias, teachers and the like. Today's generation comes with information at their fingertips. They can Google anything and what they don't get from Google, they can get from social media. We now live in an abundance of information and our kids don't need us to give them information.

What they really want is to be seen. What they want to know is, "Do I matter? If I wasn't here tomorrow, would you notice? Would you miss me? Do I make a difference?"

If I could give one bit of advice today it would be this. Make eye contact with your kiddo. If they will let you, hug them. And then answer those questions while making eye contact with them.

"Yes! You matter to me. Yes! If you weren't here tomorrow, I'd notice and miss you like crazy! Yes! You make a difference in my life! I'm so glad you share your light with me because without you, my world would be so dark. I'm so grateful that I get to do this thing called life with you. I love you so much.

They need to hear from us often that we value them and appreciate them in our life. They need to know that they have a beautiful light burning inside them and the world would love nothing better than to s***f out that light. They need reminders to keep shining their brightness and they need our help to never let the world blow their flame out.

So hug your kids today. Look them in the eye and tell them.

Welcome to HEART Tuning!

I thought I would share a little bit about me and how this all got started.

In 2022 I lost 8 people near and dear to my heart, to various health issues, all in the span of 9 months. I first lost my stepdad and the only dad I knew and within 5 months I lost my stepsister to a fentanyl overdose.

To say that grief and loss had overcome me is an understatement. In between all of the loss and grief, my head and heart experienced a disconnect that is hard to describe. In my grief and disconnect I called out in prayer, asking God what I could do to help my grief heal. I had a thought to lay down, put one hand on my head and one hand on my heart, and just breathe. A crazy thing happened and I could feel my head and my heart reconnecting.

Soon after that experience, I was introduced to HeartMath, which is a "system of science based, coherence building skills designed to use on-the-go to help people bring their physical, mental, and emotional systems into balanced alignment and connect with their heart's intuitive guidance".

Through heart focused breathing and applying other tools, I learned how to reconnect to my own heart again. I knew that I needed to attain my own HeartMath Certification to teach what made a difference for me.

I then began applying my knew knowledge and sharing it with my daughter who experiences high anxiety. And it worked! I started sharing it with everyone who would listen to me and it has worked for them too.

Now I'm taking 4 years of life coaching and mentoring experiences and combining it with on-the-go, in-the-moment, breathing techniques and created HEART Tuning.

What I've learned about life is that death and grief are not the only ways we disconnect from our heart. Our story may not be the same, but we can still feel the same disconnect. I don't have to have your experience to guide you to reconnect to your heart.

Welcome to HEART Tuning! I'm so Happy You're here.
