Obligatory fireside shot of fabulous page turner. I know she will appreciate that this picture was taken in Arizona, and not be jealous at all…
Look at what a great time me and NYT smasher had! Thanks a million to the incredible staff at Poisoned Pen Books in Scottsdale who hosted us. You are AMAZING. To be in a bookstore which so clearly cares about authors was an amazing experience.
Lucky enough to get this ARC of Then Things Went Dark and I LOVED it! If only reality TV shows were actually this inventive!! 😁🤣Totally didn’t realise it was THE who wrote Girl Goddess Queen, which I also started last week and am loving.
Good morning Arizona! Very happy to be waking up in Scottsdale this morning, in a hotel so fabulous, I feel like a total rock star. If you’re in town, come see me and the talented to get some books signed at Poisoned Pen Books!
Look who’s a staff pick in Murder by the Book in Houston!?? My old mate Elly Griffith, sporting a very different style of cover to her UK outfits 😁😁Congrats
So much fun today ! Great fun crowd and we had a blast. Wendy and Olivia worked so hard to make this great event and still found time to make this giant poster board for their shop (more pics to follow) . And how beautiful is Olivia in this pic?? Thank you so much to everyone who came, and Pamela who I only met yesterday but drove from Charleston last minute. Made my South Carolina trip perfect.
I am delirious with excitement to be in Charleston aka the most beautiful town ever, on my way to sign copies of my book The Clinic this Friday at Litchfield Books. Chicken and biscuits, boiled peanuts, she crab soup, fried green tomatoes and shrimp grits. I am SO happy. Come see me at Pawseys Island on Friday if you want a signed book!
Oh my god - how AMAZING is my photographer friend Emma Stoner at portraits. She took some pics for the upcoming launch of The Clinic, and I love them so much. Thanks, xx
Did someone say Christmas?
Rocketing noise as this shoots to the top of the TBR! So excited for Anna Mazola’s latest. Seasonal reading sorted.
What to do if you’re not actually going to get married? Spray paint a second hand dress, get your brilliant cake maker friends to each do a layer for a big cake, and encourage a bunch of people from the town where you live to show up in wedding dresses. We got lucky with the weather too!
Really enjoying this book! Read whilst starting on sobriety journey and this feels like a great time to recap, since I’m back in Brighton. Just found out author Catherine Grey has fiction book out next year so looking forward to reading that too.
Best frites in Brussels! Had so much fun finding this place with my two crazy kids. They even tried the truffle mayonnaise!!
Book mail!
The historic moment I touched an actual real life CWA Diamond Dagger! Look at my beaming, slightly creepy expression!! It is the face of an author who has absorbed the power of THE DAGGER and is drunk with literary might. All must fear me etc etc.
With the legendary and at this amazing launch. Got myself a copy of and so that’s my train reading sorted.
With caption this time 😄😄best bao buns I have ever eaten anywhere, including China (though this might be my own poor Mandarin to blame). Simon and I take day trips to Exeter just to eat them, basically.
Funny story. I met the author of this book at the Orion summer party. Had no idea who he was, just thought he seemed like an awesome guy. Found out HE ONLY WROTE ONE OF THE BEST CRIME BOOKS OF ALL TIME!!!! Sometimes these little moments of author life, when you get to meet someone whose writing you admire, are real high points. You’ve probably already read this book. If not, where have you been?? Go read it :)
Lucky enough to grab this book at the launch last night with some great authors. Read it in one day. Absolute cracker. Go read!
With the gorgeous who brilliantly insisted rickshaw was the only way to get to the summer party when traffic was too heavy for a taxi.
Great fun at last night. her usual hilarious self, and hosting (his latest book on my tba). And I finally managed to get a copy of by !! So many great authors. Too many books to fit in my luggage this time around, but looking forward to working through some smashers by who I FINALLY got to meet in person, in a brilliant fangirl moment. She has a new historical put soon, but her contemporary new release Storm looks like a gothic classic and I’m looking forward to reading. So many great exciting authors.
My sister says I should say something funny about the picture to augment the fact it’s boring but I’m not as witty as she is :) help me out if you have any ‘news’ puns - event was in Rupert Murdoch building at London Bridge and I have never before been through a metal detector to buy a book…
Thanks so much to pocket editions for selecting me alongside these amazing other authors for I’m such a massive fan of so it’s a complete honour to share the space.
Just another day in the world’s best co-working space!
Made it to the Mexican sweat lodge at ! You might just see a scene from this place in my next book which is about a murder in rehab. And yes, I really did think I was going to die at one point…
How lucky am I to get to read the digital proof of by the incredible . Obviously needed to be with a spooky house backdrop, but as I’m in Mexico it had to be jungle. SO excited to read this one.
