Find your breath and free up your range of motion! With 25yrs of Yoga experience & 15yrs as an LMT, Jonathan’s offering will inform your anatomy and delight your senses with breath as your guide. We will then gather and dance to a full ecstatic dance set from Ivy Elwyn aka Soul Seed () - Ivy is a DJ and producer and her musical journey is a testament to the profound impact that music has had in her life and how it can transform the human experience. Her music speaks to her deep understanding of the soul-stirring potential of sound. Every beat, melody, and rhythm she selects is carefully chosen to evoke emotion, inspire movement, and ignite the spirit. It is through this intentional curation that she is able to guide her audience on a journey of self-discovery, healing, and pure joy.
We will close out the evening with a Sound Healing from Kathleen Czypera () Kathleen is a Portland photographer, dance instructor, event producer, & sound healer. They host dances for LGTBQIA+, neurodivergent, and BIPOC folks of all body types, so they’re definitely a mover and a shaker and we're so excited to welcome them for our closing sound healing this week.

Forrest Yoga
After begining an informal bodywork & yoga mentorship in 2005, I did my first 30 hour Thai Massage training in 2007 in at Kalani Hau Nui on the Big Island of Hawaii. In 2009 I did a 300 hour Shiatsu Training at the Shiatsu Massage School of California. My mentor was on faculty teaching Anatomy and Pain & Orthipedic Evaluation. I continued my education with the Oregon School of Massage to bring my hours up to state level in 2015. In 2017 I did a 50 hour Yogabodyworkers Training in Portland, co-led by my mentor. I continue to study with him as often as I can.
My approach to bodywork is informed from my history as a yogi, dancer and capoeirista. I open up the breath to facilitate and coax more release. Sessions include elements of Thai, almost like hands on assisted yoga. Shiatsu, with deep holds and meridian point work using thumbs, forearms and elbows. Deep Tissue with long tractions and deeper point work with elbows. After the intake of your needs is understood, we develope a treatment plan for our session together.
My journey into yoga began in my early 20’s, and after 6 years of exploring power yoga and one teacher training in 2004, I found Forrest Yoga. Forrest Yoga is not yoga out in the woods, all though that would be cool. It was created by Ana Forrest, in the early 80's. After studying with B.K.S. Iyengar, she came back to the west and saw the body type of the west was very different then our East Indian friends. Here in the West she saw the postural damage being done daily by our chair sitting culture. Slumping shoulder rounded forward, collapsed chest and lungs, head anterior of the shoulders, straining the neck, weak core connection, compression in low back.
Many Forrest Yoga poses address these postural concerns. There are poses such as Chest-Opener On The Wall, that target opening the front of the shoulder, muscles include pec minor, anterior deltoid, scalenes. Other poses such as Bird Wing and Boat strengthen the muscles between the shoulder blades, the Rhomboids, that pull the shoulder medial towards the spine. This helps place the shoulder in a more optimal alignment with the spine. There is a strong emphasis on core strengthening with two to three rounds of abdominal strengthening. Core strengthening is such a energetic turn on!! The more you give to each rep the more power you unlock inside. We have limitless reserves we can tap. After doing core strengthening, it adds to your overall energy economy.
