What is INSPIRESS? The Innovative System Project for the Increased Recruitment of Emerging STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Students (InSPIRESS) is an outreach project that provides the opportunity for high school students to develop and design a scientific payload to be accommodated on a spacecraft which is designed by undergraduate students in the UAHuntsville IPT project. High
school students collaborate with the undergraduate engineering students to understand the engineering requirements, the design process, and the role a customer plays in design. InSPIRESS teams compete for selection by the undergraduate engineering teams. What does that mean for us? Team CHAOSS is one of the two Vinemont High School teams participating in this year's INSPIRESS program. We have be challenged with the task of creating a payload to be used on Jupiter's moon, Europa. This payload may be something along the lines of a satellite or lander, to be determined by us. Europa is an extremely hot topic in current space exploration because NASA believes that Europa has the greatest ability of containing life over everything known other than earth. What does CHAOSS stand for? CHAOSS- Changing How Astronomers Observe the Silicate Surface
Europa has a silicate surface. Our task is revolving directly around the surface, therefore our name implies exactly that. How can you help us? You can help us by simply liking and sharing this page. Each "like" assists us! You can also join us at some of our community events, which will be announced soon. Thank you for reading!
