So lovely to see all the birds visiting the garden, we are very lucky to always have House Sparrows visiting our feeders and nesting in our boxes. I heard the distinctive chirp of the Long-tailed Tits fly in too, they went straight for the fatball feeder then all collected in the willow trees. Yearly walk around our garden, sort of neglected a lot of it so far this year.... The main flowerbed along the side of the shed has done really well and I'm happy with how it's looked, for next year I think some spring flowering bulbs also some alliums would be nice. Although I never really have much success with alliums. The flowerbeds either side of the hammocks went crazy early on and were full of flowers! Then not much else, so a lot more work is needed here. It could have all been cut back a couple months back, But I've seen lots of birds eating the seed heads so it'll stay as is until winter kicks in. But this is also my main focus with our garden it's more for wildlife than us! Really happy with the new pergola/seating area with the stream. Still not finished but not far off! Winter job will probably be rebuilding the BBQ area next to the stream. We didn't have any echiums flower this year, but they sure have self sown everywhere!!! I've added a scrap piece of copper pipe and fitted a pump to help circulate the water. I've added some minnows, due to the heat it was starting to green up on the surface. Hopefully this will help keep it clear while the plants get established. Waterlilies aren't supposed to like water splashing the leaves so will be interesting to see how it gets on. Finally got around to setting up the water supply in the greenhouse! No more lugging watering cans from the bottom of the garden. 1000 litres of rainwater connected up to a powerful pump, very high pressure! Chickens helping clear the waste from the flowerbeds, shame we can't let them out at the moment. Luckily they have a nice big run to explore. There is very minimal weeding in our flower beds due to them being nodig and heavily mulched yearly, I only weeded the main bed once this year!
