my grandmother passed away which was so heartbreaking, but her life was long + beautiful and i know we will see her again.returning to the islands for that reason was bitter sweet, but death has a way of reminding you that life is precious, fleeting, and to be LIVED.i'm so glad that i got to take my oldest + youngest with me on this trip. we stayed with my father + he got to meet my son for the first time!🥹 they were besties by the end of the week!we went to the beach numerous times, snorkeled, ate the best foods, helped my dad sell his honey at his honey stand, made lots of animal friends and just had the absolute best time!🏝️the funeral was packed with many sharing the sweetest memories about an amazing and greatly loved woman. it was incredible to see that much family together at one time. my oldest kept saying "how can ONE family be so BIG?!" 😅 i've only ever visited the islands throughout my life, and honestly i don't know this side of my family as much as i would like to. i was always very close to my grandmother + father despite the distance but wish i'd had more face to face time with them over all these years.anyways, if you've never visited the u.s. virgin islands, this is your sign to make it happen!! no passport necessary and flights are really reasonable! there i was, in my bedroom when i heard the screams from the kitchen. only seconds after he had made a run for it out of my room with no diaper on."it'll be good for him to be free for a moment", i thought.no, kristin. it will not be good. it will in fact be very, very NOT GOOD.😅the girls go bonkers and the boy looks amazed (and simultaneously scared) by what just fell out of his backside and into the puddle on the floor. the kitties, of course are curious.🥴the regret in me was deeply regretting. 🫠never again. lesson learned.you can't trust a half naked baby or your instincts, apparently. ever. not even for a moment. 😆or you'll be scoopin' 💩 with the best of 'em! follow for more parenting advice, tips and life hacks🙃
