This clinic would be beneficial to camp directors hiring horse staff or purchasing horses, tack or equitation services. Camp staff working with horses need to be aware of safety. This clinic would be a good refresher for anyone interested in safety as well. Information discussed will include helmet safety, fire safety, tack selection, fitting, care and problems, selection of horses, equine first aid, liability, horse handling safety, and mounted instruction. Certificates will be issued to all participants that successfully complete the clinic. The cost for the training is $30 per person. This fee includes two packets totaling 76 pages, a pdf, two video links with questions and support from UConn Equine Extension throughout the year. Once you have registered, links to complete the clinic will be sent to you. The cost is $31 which includes all fees. Here is the link to sign up:

Our friends at the University of Delaware Equine Microbiome Project are inviting all horse owners and caretakers to participate in a research survey investigating how owners and caretakers manage their horse's body weight through feeding management strategies. The survey is available at: https://delaware.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_6fYXAjZZaie0Lf8. The first survey question will ask for a side-profile photo of your horse without any tack (see example), please have the photo ready before you start the survey. Owners and managers who complete the survey will be entered into a drawing to win a two horse Premium Yearly FeedXL Horse Nutrition Calculator Membership voucher!
I hope you can join us for this event! See the website for early registration! We still have some slots left for handlers in the first and second clinics and you can use a UConn horse! Here's the website: http://horsesymposium.uconn.edu/
