You might ask "wow! That head tube is just floating!" To which I say "that's movie magic!" While diverting your attention from the guitar string.
UDH -> DUH
Rode bikes in the rain, caught an epic sunset, hiked to a gorgeous view and had Ellen's longest camping trip ever! She's officially not just an overnighter anymore. And to top it off? She had a blast. Had a blast when we had to bike in the dark to get to camp, had a blast riding in the rain for 2 of the 3 days, had a blast hiking in cycling shoes, and last but not least had a blast living off of gas station food. One for the books ❤️ oh and the did and the tiny chainring for was for or whatever. Bikes are fun. Go ride your bike in the rain. Now to dry things off....
36t. How Ekar (adventure/gravel drivetrain) should have been geared from day 1. In gravel events, most people will be operating in the range of 10-15mph average. We don't need to be pedaling when we're going 35mph over gravel. I don't know about you, but I'm just focused on keeping upright at that point!
A chainring made for the 99% of cyclists.
Rudi's rocking the 34t chainring. They've reported that it climbs 18% grades with ease!
Lazer engraved, made entirely in the USA, 7075-t6 high qualitAY aluminum with a hard anodized black coating 😎 for all your slow going gravel needs
12/13s 1x chainrings have arrived! Ekar compatible 34t and 36t rings now available for cinch cranksets. If you've pre-ordered, I will get them shipped out within the next few days!

Any guesses why I'd be making a chainring? I'll except both right and drastically wrong answers.
Curves 🤤
.kalifatidi is a wizard with a camera, I'll say it everytime I look at the pictures he took!
Funny the places this view has taken me. Literally and metaphorically. Literally across the United States states, metaphorically across mental states. The growth both in mileage and mental fortitude. Up mountains of all kinds and embodiments. Pedaling to meet all the people places and things my life contains, a lot to do with the view here.
Sneak peak of the amazing work from .kalifatidi . If you need professional documenting, photography, or a super cool riding pal, hit up this amazing guy.
More pictures to come. Hopefully a bit more in the public eye in a write-up/ blog format 👀
Wen on an overnighter last weekend with the bike all loaded up, 48c tires. 30 mile loop on mountain bike trail and forest service road. Didnt even get rained on! Our tent definitely did...but we didn't!
Yes, it is a lot of stuff on the bike for an overnighter...that's winter camping for ya. Summer lightweight soon!
Thanks Mama Brackish for getting these headbadges from coast to coast. I can sleep easy now that I know what "company" made my bike 😊
makes some of the best quality frame building parts and I'm not willing to budge on that opinion. I incorporated their snapring hanger into my dropout design but without the snapring. The original design was intended to retain the hanger when you remove the wheel...and that's cool and all...but it looks so pretty flush against the dropout 😍 I completely understand playing it safe with their original version though!
It was also the most compact hanger design I could find. I didnt want a chunky dropout and this was the best option.
Here's a bit of a close up glamor shot of the handlebar setup. This shows the nifty riser drop bar connected to the oh so clean zipp stem. I chose to go this route mostly for asthetics. It allowed me to maintain a clean line between the top tube and the stem while getting the effective stack and stand over that fits me. I could have achieved the same with a standard handlebar but the top tube would have been higher to compensate...or a positive stem...this way I can look cool while going 10mph 🤓
Little nervous jumping on it at first. When you truly create something from scratch...something few have done (aluminum lugs. Not titanium like bastion and Atherton while using a lower cost manufacturering method) it's virgin territory. I did all the calculations, all the math, refinement, adjusting, finite element analysis, emperical research....I did it all...but none the less, this is all my work and there's a bit of hesitance there.
Boy oh boy was all the work worth it. Sublime. Snappy as hell, light out of the saddle and stable when seated. Been a while since I've been on a carbon bike with smooth tires. So much fun. Everything about it came out perfect. From the fit, to the geometry and handling, to the alignment and fitment...so beyond stoked. 2 years in the making and hundreds, if not thousands, of hours....worth every second.
13 speed butteriness
tubeset
super cool handlebars
seatpost

seat clamper
Tires
rotors
And oh so many more goodies.
I'll be posting a few detail shots of my favorite parts over the next few days and sharing some insight on what makes the subject of the picture special
A massive thank you to the guys .lost for hooking up some tools to get these threads tapped! The ball is rolling now!!!
First time ever soldering! The brazing experience definitely helped. Passed the pull test, lights turn on and are all heat shrinked.
Just so we're all on the same page this number doesn't matter too much. With that out of the way it is an interesting number to look at. 1299.99999 grams! Not bad for essentially a 61cm frame with a 6'3" rider!
I'm good at glamour shots, huh?
She's been through a few iterations for sure and I'm stoked for how it's come out. It's pretty obvious is the inspiration but with many Brackish Cycles flair. Dropped seat stays, T47, 2" tire clearance, slack geo, 640mm stack, 385mm reach, flat mount and all the goodies. Shred ready.
🤘 metal
Pretty jazzed about this
Final prints happening. Dropouts finished! Everything all fit together perfectly. Bit more dineros then we will be on our way! 3D printed titanium lugs and filament wound carbon tubing. Custom carbon bikes made by robots for a reasonable price 😁
Pay no attention to the HG freehub and ekar caliper. One of these things will stay the other will be swapped out for an n3w star ratchet freehub (if anyone has one let me know 👀)
