Each birth-month, I make it a point to do my health checks. This one was to my 💗 cardiologist who couldn’t believe how much progress I’ve made, on my health, in 12 months. We are on-track to discontinuing my BP RX.

A year ago, he recommended I add two more meds.

You, too, can be free of poor health.
It’s not just about “genetics.”
It 👏🏼 changed 👏🏼 my 👏🏼 life.

I miss creating new dishes, but tonight I had a moment. 🤩

Brown rice penne & sausage covered in roasted beet sauce and garnished with fresh arugula and crunchy chickpeas. 😋

Ok fam. THIS is what we will be eating ALL WINTER (but also every Sunday). It’s hearty and comforting, but that ricotta really brightens it up!

Ricotta really should be served with all pot roast, from here on out. 😎☝🏼

🍴First time dining at , and I have to say I was underwhelmed. I was hoping for more because it was located at The Huston Hotel that I frequented, before the pandemic, because of the amazing and located inside this hotel. Cabra claims to be a “Peruvian resturant,” but when questioned about significant deviations from signature Peruvian dishes, it is at that moment that it is in fact a “Peruvian-inspired restaurant.”

🍹I have no problem with x-inspired restaurants, but transparency is important in order to set proper expectations.

🍤 The appetizers were fresh and brought me back to my California-bistro days, and the cocktails weren’t too bad either. I’m grateful that they took proper precautions with my food allergies and service was excellent. Unfortunately, there isn’t even one dish that I tried that would entice me to come back for more.

🏙 Either way, it’s always great to find another good rooftop spot to visit in Chicago, and this one is in the West Loop. The decor is calming, and the furniture is inviting. Enjoy some small bites and cocktails, along with great conversations here.

🍽 There is something about dining at a steakhouse that gets me excited. Maybe it’s because I used to work at one? Maybe it’s because steak is delicious? Maybe it’s because it’s more than just about the meat?

This was my first visit to , and I can tell you that I will be back for the cocktails and the appetizers. The Kampachi Crudo was extremely balanced and intentional in its seasoning and its plating.

The drinks and appetizers usually set the stage for what’s to come and I was told that dinner was a little bit “off,” so I hope to have the full experience again in the future. @ Swift & Sons

🍴FOOD IS COMFORT🍴After a day like today, this is EXACTLY what I needed. From the tasty imported red wine, to the PERFECT Gnocchi Romano (with all of my favorite ingredients), to the thoughtful garlic bread…I’m a happy gal!

Let’s talk about this garlic bread…if you’ve followed my Victory Tap journey, you know that I constantly have to fight-off the bread hustlers. Today, they got to me. After some back-and-forth from me giving excuses of why I didn’t want the bread, we arrived at this: crustless, center bread. As a kid, I never liked the crust and my dad would take the center out and eat the crust to avoid wasting the bread. They also know that I prefer their butter over marinara. They REALLY got me.

Dessert almost got me, but I was stronger. What can I say…it’s been a day, but as always, made it better. @ Victory Restaurant Group

Last night, I had a fantastic time having meaningful conversations with this wonderful group. Great food and drinks also helps inspire important topics. There is always room to improve ourselves and our surroundings, and it truly begins with conversations like these.

EMPOWER those who want to make a difference. LISTEN and LEARN from those with things to say. ACT accordingly.

🥳 CELEBRATION IS NECESSARY 🥳
Many thanks to Paul Pimentel for doing what he does best - getting me out to celebrate life with great food and great company. I appreciate you, Paul!

I have been looking forward to reaching partnership status with Healthcare Solutions Team, for so long, that it didn’t seem real. Having the opportunity to get fancy and get out to celebrate was exactly what I needed. 🥂🍾
🎂 What’s even better is finally being able to dine-in at (since COVID shutdowns), my favorite restaurant in Chicago. It’s a hidden gem and discovered it during one of my visits to Chicago a couple years ago. Check out all of the great plates we had! @ the Albert

When challenges you to eat more potatoes because you never feel full, you must make them exciting. So here we go!

As says, “This is really magical. I can taste the complexity. The balance of textures with the acid.”

THIS is how I prefer to cook. I also prepared some snacks for this week, so check them out in my stories. ☝🏼

🌵ARIZONA - I’m coming for ya!

📅 Back in January, I was on a mission to gather my things from storage and bring it across the country. Lexi and I pulled off a 3600-mile trip in just four days, with 36 hours in Phoenix. The storage unit was sorted through, donations made, and then I managed to eat at 5 of my favorite spots with some of my favorite people: In-N-Out Burger, The Henry, Spinato’s, Tee P*e Mexican, and Pete’s Fish ‘ Chips. Even managed to mix some business in there!

💍 This weekend, I’ll be there to witness the wedding of Lauren Furrier & Mike Ratzken. Just couldn’t miss it!

⏰I’m only going to be in-town for two days and I know it’s a holiday weekend, but here’s your notice. I’d love to see my friends! 😉 @ Phoenix, Arizona

Have you ever been so full, but the food was so good, you wish you could take a power nap and then go back at it? This was THAT MEAL for me. Best steak in IL! (You heard me.)

Those rolls took SKILL to make. Perfectly thin crust on the outside and steamy and light on the inside. Indulged in stone crab, which is in-season until May, and had some underwhelming New England Clam Chowder. HOWEVER, the stars of the show...
..the PERFECTLY COOKED and PERFECTLY SEASONED Porterhouse...
..and the steamed King Crab legs. 😍
