Looking forward to vending this weekend at Tripping the Lights Fantastic! The Hungry Eye will have new psychedelic fractal pendants, outlandish earrings with dragonfly and unicorn cameos, some amazing psychedelicized small furniture and housewares. Also, gorgeous necklaces and candle holders! Come by and pick up a special memento of TTLF weekend; my band doesn't go onstage until midnight Saturday/Sunday, so I'll be open all day Saturday until around six or seven, and then I'll be reopening at around eleven on Sunday to finish out the weekend.

Our Story

I offer color-drenched yet sophisticated decor for the adventurous person in love with their living space. A lifelong Bohemian at heart, and lover of rococo design, unorthodox interiors, and the 1960’s San Francisco art movement, I have always dreamed of living in a house that pays homage to all of those things...but, in my younger I could never afford to purchase the things that comprise my vision. I realized that this financial deficit was really the Universe’s gentle way of pushing me toward the discovery of my passion for making furniture into art. Because of this, my artworks are primarily furnishings and accent pieces that transcend the downtown headshop or college dorm room, and are worthy of the most upscale home, office, or business. A true believer in the power of color therapy, it is my mission to bring my distinct flavor of psychedelic energy into every home, at every price level. I also feature handmade jewelry: primarily necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. smaller decorative objects and conversation pieces, and functional decor like candle holders and macrame plant hangers.
The Hungry Eye is also the home of L***y Lathers Handmade Soaps and Skin Care. My most well-known items are my Afterglow Lemonbalm Skin Toner (made with homegrown lemon balm grown in my own backyard herb garden) and my amazing Skin Salvation Salve with magnesium concentrate (reported by customers to effectively treat and dissolve psoriasis and eczema).

I grew up in Monterey County, California; and after several years in South Carolina, I came to live in the beautiful Northwest town of Shelton, Washington. By day, I work as the housing program/property/office manager at Crossroads Housing, working with homeless citizens to move permanently into stable and safe housing situations. I have been in my job for over 15 years and absolutely love the work that I do.

My other passions are gardening (including growing flowers and herbs for my skin care products); cooking; and singing lead vocals in The Psychedelic Shadow Show, a seven-member band that performs classic psychedelic hits from the late 1960s and early 1970s, particularly Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin, Buffalo Springfield, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, and many others.

I believe in finding passion and fulfillment in as many aspects of life as possible. I live by the belief that it is far better to take absurd chances than play it safe; and I would much rather spend my final days laughing out of embarrassment at what I did, than suffering from the regret of never having taken a shot at all.
