It wouldn’t be Christmas without our annual tradition where we send out a little gift along with our greetings. This card is also a testament to the fact I never got around to getting a family photo taken but thankfully Meatball stepped in as our substitute. Swipe to see! This year’s gift is a screw lock keychain to “ring” in the new year. Get it? “Ring”! Come on people, this is gold! Anyway, I starting using one of these keychains this year and is a far better mousetrap than the standard keychain. Trust me! You are welcome.
It was a killer Halloween night! 👻🔪
A day early but happy gotcha day to us! Meow!
Halloween is on a Tuesday this year (womp womp) so I’m keeping the theme really simple - classic Halloween. Now if it would just stop raining every weekend, maybe we could finish putting everything up. October is turning into a washout!
Serenity now. Insanity later.
Blanket ladders: yay or nay? Discuss.
Who needs gargoyles? 😻
Attn cat lovers: I need your recommendations! What do you use to de-fur your house? Meatball hardly shed before now but the sudden warm temps have changed that fast and she is leaving her coat all over her favorite spots. Need all your tricks! 🐾
I’m happy to report Mr. Meatball has come out of his surgery and is doing well. Not even a cone to slow him down!
This faux brick wall was just so bad before. Updating the trim and painting a bright white made such a difference to the whole space. We still have a lot of little tasks to finish before we are summer ready but it will happen eventually. We did hang the tv so yay for checking the important things off!
I think it’s time to take down the tree. Who else is taking down holiday decor today?
Christmas Mail call! As you know, we send out a little surprise with our Christmas cards every year. This year we gave our our favorite sweets: chocolate truffles! The 4 of us are obsessed with these - hoping our friends and family enjoy them just as much as we do.
Merry Christmas wishes from 1979. That chair is boho style goals! I can almost feel the wicker. Hope your holidays are more cozy than my brother and I are in this snapshot.

Santa stopped by our little corner of Brooklyn today! It’s a good thing too because with just 2 weeks to go, this Christmas season is flying by! Many thanks to Abby and her elves for making it happen!
Lighting lovers - what wall sconces can I install that will look right without having to rewire/repair the wall?

Meow I present to you the newest member of our family: Polpetta “Meatball” Schiada. 😻
Boo!
Today marks 45 trips around the sun. I take my birthday very seriously and do my best to celebrate all month long. Luckily for me, the people who love me indulge me in this pursuit. Cheers to turning October into STEFober.
Not a drill, people! It’s October 1st. 💀
Sept 1. Time to bring out my spooky side.
A story in 3 acts.
Not pictured: telling the kids what to do in case I electrocuted myself. ⚡️ But hey, new light fixture! 💡
This fixture is in sale today: https://amzn.to/3TrZQ4o
The first ride on the Cyclone is a rite of passage for every New Yorker. Contrary to what the photographic evidence suggests, she loved it!
My not so baby boy is 6. Watch out world, there is no stopping his charms.
Jersey Shore condo to Beach Townhouse Update Home Decor, DIY and Design blog all about trying to live a stylish live in an old home in Brooklyn.
You know I love a dramatic before and after but let’s get real. Renovations don’t happen in short video format. They take a lot of time, money, patience and agita. (Swipe to time travel back 5 months) And that was before covid and supply chain delays got added. Thankfully we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel for our Jersey shore kitchen renovation. Floor ✅ Cabinets ✅ Appliances ✅ Paint ✅ are all done. Slow and steady win the race. Countertops are picked (see my stories for a sneak peek!). I’m waiting on a few last pieces and I’m still torn about tile vs matching stone backsplash. What do you think?
A couple more tweaks still needed (where does one get 6 inch brass pulls that aren’t a bajillion dollars?) but this tiny coastal bathroom remodel is mostly done! Yes, I did precariously balance my phone on the toilet and then run out of the room to get these shots. I do what I have to do for the ‘gram. Such a difference from the red room (which made me want to “redrum” whoever came up with that plan) that we started with. Swipe to see the plans and the before.
The sun has set on our time in Greece and it’s been magical. The sights, the history, the food and especially the people have made our trip so memorable in the best possible ways.
We planned this trip for 2020 and we all know how that went. So here we are 2 years later - I can’t even remember how I picked the but I can only say “wow”. Not only the suite itself which is gorgeous, has a private pool and amazing view but Niko, the manager has planned each our days here as if we were family. If you know me, you know I’m a hotel snob but even my high expectations have been exceeded. (Not sponsored - I just can’t say enough good things.)
I’ll share more once we are back home but “yassas” for now.
The beach kitchen is just a demo’d room right now (swipe for the current situation) but the plan is coming together. I know the interior design community is giving a lot of shade to white kitchens but I think they are timeless. ( 🥴)You can just switch up some of the finishes and it’s a totally new look. The plan here is lots of white with some warm brass and wood tone accents. Fingers crossed I have some more progress this month to share.

Pardon me while I scream into the void of things I can not control. Anyone else in the midst of a renovation project care to join me? 😱
Our shore project has ever so slowly come to a screeching halt all the while juggling the never ending list of supplies that don’t ever seem to arrive. You want ‘Out of stock’, ‘lost in the mail’, ‘shipping delays’? I got ‘em. But who cares, no big deal, I want morrrreeee 🎶 🧜♀️ (I’ve always identified as more of an Ursula than Ariel anyway.)
First world problems, I know. It will eventually get sorted. I hope I have more pretty “after” photos sooner than later. In the meantime I just figured I’d let myself share my frustration while I wait. 🧠 🔨
Christmas Eve. The last mile in the marathon that is the holiday season. Im holding on tight to these magical years with our ever fast growing not so littles. I don’t want them ever to end.
Another year, another Christmas mailing. This time we sent an emergency set of gloves (you know, the ones you are happy to have laying around when you can’t find your good ones!) along with our merry wishes. Every year sending these is like a game of roulette with the post office so I hope they made them to their intended recipients. Ho Ho Ho 🧤
Warning: This beautiful Christmas storybook by may make some grown women (like me 🤦♀️) cry like a baby.
The sweetest story by and illustrated by are waiting for you and all your emotions. 😭
