Send some healing vibes Sailor’s way. For the last several months Sailor had been limping on and off and luxating patella was suspected. However her limping got worse and was continuous and another vet diagnosed her with a torn ligament in her knee (cranial cruciate ligament tear).
After taking supplements, anti inflammatories and rest she continued to get worse so we proceeded with surgery. Two weeks ago Sailor had TPLO surgery. “TPLO surgery involves making a curved cut in the tibia from the front to the back, much like half a smiley face. The top section of the tibia is then rotated backward until the angle between the tibia and femur is deemed appropriately level, typically between 2 and 14 degrees, with 5 degrees being the ideal angle. A metal bone plate is then used to affix the two sections of tibia in the desired positions, allowing the tibia to heal in its new configuration.”
Sailor is healing well and is back to her happy tail wagging self 😊 Kingsley has been by her side in her temporary pen and is being the best big brother. She is now our little chicken drumstick 🍗 as that’s what her shaved leg reminds us of 😆 -👑+⚓️’s hooman

We’re modeling she’s defender’s onesie and shock absorbing leashes. She’s defender’s onesie helps contain fur and minimize shedding. For Sailor is has been super helpful with allergies. It has helped prevent her from scratching her sides raw this allergy season. It’s a great item to have on hand post surgery and for wounds and itchy skin to prevent scratching and biting (without the cone of shame!). 2 paws up up from us!
