Workshop Announcement!
Join us for another uplifting Dance and Movement Workshop on May 4th at The Old Mushroom Farm. We're excited to welcome our guest teacher, Nienie Wood - Transformational Coaching, a specialist in Transformational Coaching. She will lead a somatic movement class aimed at deepening the connection between body and mind.

In our other sessions, Bonwa and Nadja will guide you through the art of creating your own movements and stepping outside the box, along with exploring the dynamics of partnering.

Our Slangspruit Super Troupers are priviledged to attend and perform at the Eston Show tomorrow 😀

Last week our Super Troupers got to experience how it feels to be filmed while dancing, walking, rehearsing, talking and just being normal. They mastered those challenges really well and we are super excited for the outcome of this wonderful, creative and absolutely fun project!

We truly enjoyed our comeback with “My Funny Valentine in 2023”. It was an evening of exquisite artistry that combined the grace of ballroom and latin dance and the passion of Argentine tango. In between we enjoyed delightful live music by Brian Bedingfield, Huyton Watt, Vuyolwethu Mlawu and Johan Grobler.
The amazing visual artists, The Aesthete Coral Joy Douglas, Dawn, Ockert, created stunning paintings, all inspired by the movements of the dancers.
A huge thank you to the Tatham Art Gallery for providing the beautiful space. Thank you to all our musicians and artists for creating a unique piece of art in our memories. Thank you to Chef Peter's Foodworx for the culinary expertise and Tatham Art Gallery Cafe for your support.

Amazing volunteers contribute to the success of our events

Two weeks ago, we held our Autumn Dance &Arts Camp at the Old Mushroom Farm. We look back proudly, at those three memorable days full of dance, arts, and creative fun, accompanied by the beautiful music, angelic voices and lots of laughter. On Friday we started bright and early with a wake up YogaFlow session followed by a wholesome breakfast, prepared by Nikki Brighton. Our Super Troupers got a taste of the most flavourful edible weeds around us. It was truly a unique experience and an important step forward in our Super Troupers and friends’ artistic journeys. We are so grateful for all the support we received to make the BoNana Autumn Dance & Arts Camp happen!

After a fun and challenging audition process, we selected a group of Super Troupers from Mpumelelo Youth Development & Slangspruit Dance groups to join our 3 day Autumn Dance & Arts Camp at . A HUGE thank you and shoutout to the Friends of BoNana, various schools and companies for your continued support, und ein großes Dankeschön an unsere Freunde nach Deutschland für your generous financial support to make the experience possible for the Super Troupers.

What an incredible start to our outreach work at Slangspruit. As we arrived at the Slangspruit Primary School, 69 children and youth were warming up their bodies with the BoNana Dance sequence, Giya.
We were so stoked about the initiative the “old” Slang Super Troupers took to lead the training and mobilization. After their warm up, we began teaching them the routine for this year’s BoNana International Dance Day choreography in preparation for the actual day on the 29th of April.

Comes A Time”

Yesterday we performed in the 9th of the series of Tangled Up In Poetry hosted and presented by Rob Boyd and friends. Two more performances are ahead, and the show tells short stories about Neil Young and his music, a fun social history of how rock n roll and poetry got mixed up together.

There was a live performance by Brian Bedingfield and Huyton Watts (both ex-Hairy Legged Lentil Eaters) - was für ein Ohrenschmaus!
And don’t forget us dancers interpreting this lovely music in a visual way. Great fun and a great show.
