We were hoping for some sun with this shoot, but luckily the Sakura blossoms are stunning by themselves...
With yesterday having been the longest day of the year (well, in the Northern hemisphere anyway), I got inspired to spruce up my feed with a flower theme.
Here we have Sarah and Ruben amongst some cherry blossoms.
Tarika from Wees Onmisbaar makes beautiful handcrafted jewelry and when I needed something for a large group of special ladies in my life, I didn't hesitate knocking on her door. She was amazing in helping me with my custom order and thinking with me as to what would best suite my vision.
I still haven't found the time to watch part 2 of Bridgerton's season 3.
Should I though? Been seeing some mixed reactions...
Give it up for the groom!
Yes, it's not always about the bride. Groom portraits are just as important, and it's good to allocate some time to this in your wedding day schedule.
Easy on sundays.
Show me your pretty, Amsterdam.
Happy Anniversary!
Every wedding is special, and I had a great time with Janneke and Menno. On this day though, what I loved the most... Besides cycling around Amsterdam with the the groom and bride and their kids. It was how after we finished the couple/family pictures, we still had some time to spare before they had to be at their reception dinner, so we stopped at the closest bar for a beer.
If that's your vibe, I'm here for it.

Yay, the long summer days are here!
Now we only need the warm weather with it.
Move along, there's nothing to see here.
Except for some epic portraits! Had so much fun with last week.
She is a ball of energy and enthusiasm...
Self portrait, but make it an album cover.

I've been pretty quiet on socials over the past months. Firstly, I've been busy planning a wedding!
But I've also found myself in a bit of a creative slump. Except for client shoots, I've not done much personal photography or projects. Because I just wasn't feeling it.
And so, to kick-start those creative juices, I've been challenging myself with little prompt, like this one. Or engulfing myself in other creative processes, like drawing, painting, even knitting...
Can you relate to this?
Strong, feminine bridal portraits.

These two are just too cute.
But as a photographer, I also can't help but fall in love with the light reflecting off those building behind them.

Hehe, be sure to find yourself a photographer that matches your level of sneakiness!

K&W wanted some engagement photos across Amsterdam. After the rainy summer we've had, we were lucky as the day of their shoot was nice and sunny. But that meant a lot of other photographers and couples were busy during the late evening. Not once, but twice did I have to improvise because there was already a photographer busy with a couple on a preferred spot of mine. Luckily this city has loads of cute corners and spots, there's more than enough to go around.
It's weekend and I hope you are enjoying this late summer as much as I am.

So there's a few things that come to mind when looking at these pictures:
1. It is always a joy shooting with the Foord familie. With this shoot we only had like half an hour and I feel like we spent most of the time trying to get the kids to sit still, which of course didn't work. (Always plan activities when capturing children.) But still I manage to take over a 1000 pictures and so many of them absolutely stunning, because that is exactly what this family is.
2. I mean, isn't Lindie just stunning?
3. If you are the mother to a boy, don't think that you have to deny yourself putting on a beautiful dress. Just do it!
Ok, that's my rant for today.

My first shoot in Amsterdam.
This was back in 2016. Friends were getting married and I wanted to gift them an engagement shoot.
So often we are looking forward, to the next thing we need to improve, the next goal, the next iPhone, the next gadget... But it's very satisfying to sometimes look back and see how far we've come. I think we should make more time for celebrating small wins.
