This memory came up for me today. It is poignant in the fact that I am now sitting next to this beautiful souls bedside nursing her in her last days.
She is my 1 constant in life. Has been with me since conception and now I sit next to her bedside and weep.
I know we will meet again some day. The bond is too strong and the love too big.
YOU, yes you.. are so very important to me. Knowing that you are feeling lonely breaks my heart. Im here for you.. any time, any day. You don't have to do this alone.
Life can be really sucky sometimes and sucky is better shared with the people who are prepared to go through the suckyness with you, cos we have all been through it before and we can share our superpowers of experience and stand shoulder to shoulder with you in the trenches without batting an eyelid.
Know that you are loved beyond measure and we are in this together. I love you # # #

Navigating Big Emotions
Going through the emotional rollercoaster of cancer treatment can be very traumatic. I remember being in a very dark place and not really knowing how to navigate through it. It took me a long time to understand the emotional complexity and find my way out.
Getting creative is a very effective way of dealing with big emotions. Creativity helps you process big emotions from depression to love and beyond.
Some of us get creative through painting or expressive art, dancing, cooking, writing, reading or even through creating a business. Movies are a favourite of mine. I feel every emotion portrayed on screen and have been known to cry while watching even cartoons. I feel it all and process the emotion through the characters.
I also love to write and that helps me deal with and transition through big emotions. Part of that writing process for me is tapping into my own knowing. It is something I had to relearn how to do and it has changed so much for me.
Grab a journal and a pen and just write. No filter, just write, as if you are speaking. Let whatever is inside spill onto the pages. If it’s dark, let it be dark. Better out than in right ! I seldom if ever re-read or revisit what I have written.
Your journal should always remain for your eyes only. I have filled many journals over the years and to be honest, what I write in them is nobody’s business, so every so often I have a clearing ceremony which involves me ripping pages out of the journal and burning them, releasing the energy back into the universe.

Today I am reflecting on my impatience for summer to arrive here in the UK. With an almost constant lockdown and the winter which seems to be overstaying it's welcome, I am really longing for the warm sunshine and long days.
Im reminded that there is a time for everything. Spring will follow winter, and autumn will follow summer. I remind myself that this too shall pass and warmer sunnier days will return.

Im going to just put this out there.. this lockdown has tapped into my inner introvert. I have loved being home with my family. The girls are at a good age where they are both in secondary school, so home schooling has been a breeze. They have been diligently attending online classes and interacting with friends and teachers.
This week they have gone back to school and life is inching toward some sense of normality. I can see the benefits of them meeting up with their school friends and teachers and socialising with people outside of our home.

The researchers observed how the Rosetans related to others in their community. They noticed significant close-knit social patterns and attributed the results of the study to their relationships in their community being the most significant contributor to their health and wellbeing.
This is just one of the building blocks to creating a fulfilled life you love living, although it is one of the most important. So how are you building or maintaining your strong social bonds at the moment? I am slowly starting to reconnect and reach out to friends as we come out of lockdown. Not meeting up with anyone as yet, but the time for that will come. The introvert in me is a little reluctant but I know the value of balance in life.

I wanted to share something I have been working on for a while.
It has taken me over a decade to work my way through from Surviving (just) to Thriving. About three years after my diagnosis I shared a few of the revelations I had through blogs and videos with the intent and purpose of creating a program to guide others struggling after a cancer diagnosis. I researched, created, wrote, had a youtube channel and published my book.
Little did I know that I had just scratched the surface of my healing journey. I took a short break from the business over the summer and could not muster the energy to go back to it. I burned myself out. This took me on a journey of messy healing and long periods of numbing the world out. Needless to say the program never materialised.
It has been ten years since stepping back from my business. Ten years of growing and developing. I have pulled together my 14 years of healing and building and have created a program which I am exceptionally excited about.
