When Kung Fu Cubs and Rugby Tots is cancelled. Got to keep him entertained and active some how. 😂 And of course he insisted Daddy had a go as well 🤣
Do your kids currently take part in any sports? Some people may think it’s over the top that Olly does Kung-Fu Cubs on a Saturday and then Rugby Tots on a Sunday. “He’s only 3, why are you forcing him to do those things?” Firstly, you can’t force Olly to do anything he doesn’t want to do 🤣 And secondly, because he absolutely loves going to both. But, just as importantly I've always wanted Olly to do some form of sport as there are so many benefits to a child’s development. Sport is a brilliant way to build communication and social skills. Although with both Kung-Fu cubs and rugby tots, he has specific skills he learns, like passing, catching and kicking, punching etc the true benefit is the way he’s developed in confidence. Many parents comment on, what a difference sport has made to their child and how much more confident they have become. Kids are always full of energy as well and sport is a great way to use some of that energy constructively. Especially at an early age when a lot of their physical development is still happening. With Kung-Fu Cubs and Rugby Tots, for example, they are designed to improve balance, coordination, and general physical literacy. Sport is also a great way to increase the diversity (depending on what area you live in) of people your child interacts with. Including people from different cultures and religions that they otherwise may not encounter helping them to become more accepting of people who may be different from themselves. Another important element of sports is discipline. Good listening skills become very important to maintain discipline, as well as managing often complex emotions. Learning how to lose is one aspect of this. Not so much at Olly’s age now but more so when he gets older and sport becomes more competitive. There is a huge focus on winning in every part of life, but significantly so in sport, and learning how to lose, and how to win, at a young age is a vital life lesson. From the Rugby Tots website:
