Today was a true Field Day! We went out to the 🍓Strawberry Fields to pick our own strawberries at Atkinson Farms! Everyone had a 🍓🍓🍓 picking good time!!!

There's something liberating about working in the dirt and planting seeds! Our students began their garden projects today! Beans, watermelon, tomatoes, okra, and more! Let's the growing began!

Mini brain break trip! We had a big Spanish Test yesterday and SAT prep. We needed a brain break so we went to Old Town Spring for a mini trip. Did a little sight seeing, learned a little history, found the bank vault, identified historical time periods, a little daydreaming and then we got a sweet treat! Ice cream and popcorn! I love homeschooling! I love my students!

My Homeschooled Daughter won the Centennial Pageant sponsored by my Sorority! Homeschoolers rock! In her introduction, she proudly said that she was homeschooled. She is now the Inaugural Miss Rhoyal Elite Queen! All glory to God! I am just going to be a proud Mama here. When we made the decision to homeschool her, my husband was hesitant. But I knew that we had invested such into this child and that she had already overcome so much with ADHD and cognitive processing disorder. I was not willing to throw her to the wolves in a public school and undo all that we had accomplished. Her story is full of setbacks, comebacks, tears and joys. She is not like others, she is fearfully and wonderfully made to bring glory to God in an amazing way! While others made their talent selections, she choose to do a praise dance to God. He gave her the victory!!! I hope and pray that you parents who struggle with your children in this small moment in life will get hope from seeing this. I always tell her that it's not the outside but the cultivating of the inside that will bless all those who are outside! This is the same child who after much diligent work with her certified teacher mom, me, could not even get to the letter B in the alphabet in Kindergarten and 1st grade. God is great and greatly to be praised! This is the same child who rarely spoke to her teacher in 2nd grade. The teacher wondered if she could even talk. Hang in there parents! It's not about the award for me. But her growth, her development, her confidence, her abilities and desires in her own time. Homeschooling allows you to parent your child and meet their needs in the way that they need it. It doesn't have to look like anyone else's. Thank God for homeschooling. Thank God for the freedom to homeschool in Texas!
