Europe's tallest observation wheel 🎡 (when it opened to the public in 2000 it was the world's tallest ferris wheel). The London Eye, or the Millennium Wheel, is the most popular paid tourist attraction in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧. To put it in context, I'm one of almost 4 million people to stand in or around that spot over the past year.

Ever wonder why you never see a Queen’s Guard 💂‍♀️ smile? Apparently if a superior catches a guard smiling 🙂 or laughing he may be fined anywhere from a few days up to a week’s pay. In other words, a smile is waay too expensive 💷 .
Another weird and random fun fact, guards must faint a certain way 🤔. Yup, I had the same quizzical look on my face. If a guard feels faint, he must pass out while still remaining at attention. This is called "faint to attention" 🤦🏾‍♂️ Life rough, so please don't touch or provoke them 😇

There's much uncertainty about the future. Fears often trigger other emotions, including despair and anger and much of it is played out on social media. In truth, there is much to fear in our lives and in our world. The unknown can seem dark and filled with danger. We wonder if we can handle it. We wonder how we can endure.
David wrote, "Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war breaks out against me, even then I will be confident" (Psalm 27:3)

The iconic Black Cabs, London's official taxis 🚖. Interestingly, only black cabs can be hailed in the street (pick up off the street). They can also be booked by telephone 📞 of course. If the yellow TAXI sign at the front is illuminated, the cab is available for hire. Black cabs are legally obliged to take on any job for journeys up to 12 miles (20 miles for cabs at the Heathrow Airport ✈️ taxi ranks), or up to one hour duration. Fares are metered, and there is a minimum charge of 💷 £3. As an added convenience, all black cabs accept payment by credit 💳 or debit card.

The V&A Victoria and Albert Museum is the world’s leading museum of art and design, housing a permanent collection of over 2.3 million objects that span over 5,000 years of human creativity in virtually every medium. The Museum holds many of the UK's national collections and houses some of the greatest resources for the study of architecture, furniture, fashion, textiles, photography, sculpture, painting, jewellery, glass, ceramics, book arts, Asian art and design, theatre and performance.
This history of the Victoria and Albert Museum is a story like no other. From its early beginnings as a Museum of Manufactures in 1852, to the foundation stone laid by Queen Victoria in 1899, to today's state-of-the-art galleries, the Museum has constantly evolved in its collecting and public interpretation of art and design housed in one of the finest groups of Victorian and modern buildings in Britain.

The warped design of this little tunnel required no special effects to look epic. Wondered around the city a bit then rocked down to Electric Avenue 🎶

Amazing architecture and engineering with an iconic panoramic view. Tower Bridge is a combined bascule and suspension bridge built between 1886 and 1894. The bridge crosses the River Thames close to the Tower of London and has become an iconic symbol of London. As a result, it is sometimes confused with London Bridge, about half a mile upstream.

The vast central monument, commemorating Queen Victoria, stands 25 metres high and uses 2,300 tonnes of white Carrara marble. In addition, there are statues representing courage, constancy, victory, charity, truth and motherhood.

Entrance to the Green Park, one of the eight Royal Parks in central London. The Canada Gate forms part of the Victoria Memorial scheme. The gate is in the same style as those of the main Palace and bears the emblems of the seven Canadian provinces of the time. The double gates are supported by two massive pillars of Portland stone and crowned by gas lanterns.

The beautiful and well manicured Memorial Gardens 🌻 behind me, created in 1901 (that's a long time to maintain a garden). The formal flowerbeds are laid out in a semi-circular design around the central memorial and are a familiar sight during many of the famous processions and ceremonies that take place in this area.
The planting schedule follows a traditional seasonal pattern that is repeated each year. Each planting takes approximately 2 WEEKS and involves up to ten people. During the winter the beds are usually filled with about 50,000 yellow wallflowers 🌼 and red tulips 🌺. Replanting of the beds in summer requires approximately 22,500 plants, including geraniums, spider plants, salvias and weeping figs. Scarlet geraniums are used to match the tunics of The Guards at Buckingham Palace.
I like flowers as much as the other person, but all that work, personally I'd have given up on the garden a looong time ago.

1: Found myself a Big Ben substitute at Lambeth Clapham 😆. Clearly not nearly as impressive as the almost 100 meter tall structure.

2: Stopped by Big Ben still covered in scaffolding as they do restoration work and make safety and fire regulation improvements, in addition to enhancing the energy efficiency of Elizabeth Tower. It's originally schedule to be completed next year ☹️😔

3: Got this really good waffle at Sukeun Kang on Clarence Street. I don't particularly love waffles, but this was truly satisfying 😋 topped with whipped cream, sliced banana 🍌, chopped nuts and a drizzle of melted belgian choc 🍫

Back when we were free to go anywhere we wanted, I was more than willing to trade -4 for 9 degree 🥶 weather. Five degrees of separation 🤣. Ditched the 6ix🇨🇦 for a grey UK winter. Was so early to the airport there was absolutely NO ONE 👻. Then I forgot to get my oyster card and ended up overpaying for the train ticket 🚂🤦🏾‍♂️ but meh.
Despite the current crisis 🦠 we'll wander around the world again, and connect with different cultures and peoples on opposite sides of the globe 🌎. SEE YOU ALL SOON!!

Throughout history, human beings have inherently been social creatures. For decades we've survived and thrived through the "togetherness" of social groups and other truly tangible connections. 🗣Today, modern communication and technology has forever changed the landscape of our human interaction.

In a world where some of our most personal moments are "Shared" online with "Friends" and business meetings are replaced with video conferencing, we have embraced the digitally connected world. I know we all can't wait to get back outside, but If this is a glimpse of our new normal, will we decline without this type of meaningful personal contact?

Among the most precious commodities are our health, love, and happiness. Regardless of what we accomplish and accumulate in life, we are unable to take it with us. In the fast paced, consumer driven, social media shared world that we live in today, success and happiness are often defined by the status of what we achieve, and the value of the things we own.

We are inundated with the same message: the measure of our self-worth is directly equal to the measure of our material wealth. Whether it’s the status car, the trendiest clothes, the luxury home or the CEO title that comes with the envied corner office with a view, these and the many other status symbols of wealth and success seem to forever define our value in our culture today, immortalized by the cinematic perfection of super heroes and super stars, and broadcasted through the perfectly curated lives that bombard us daily by "friends" on social media.

Fueled by equal parts aspiration and expectation, in an entirely odd and unusual way, envy has become the 21st Century's most enduring economic driver, feeding our most persistent social cravings and endless material consumerism. In our effort to keep up with all that is expected of us, many of us find ourselves in perpetual motion, filling our days with the hyper-active, turbo-charged, "crazy busy" schedules that keep us struggling to maintain balance between our work, busy careers, and all that's happening in our personal lives. And despite our "success", when we achieve it, it seems that quality personal time for ourselves and for nurturing our relationships has become increasingly more elusive.

With our daily use of email, texting, smart phones, and social media, we live in an age of instant global connectivity. We are more connected to one another today than ever before, yet somehow, we’re actually increasingly feeling more... disconnected.

Like I always say, I'm not much into trends. Don’t allow fashion to own you, but you decide who you are, what you want to express by the way you dress and the way you live. Then, when you're confident about your own personality and style, you WILL be noticed without striving to be noticed. That's what elegance is all about!
