A Very Mery Unbirthday to you! 🎉

Let’s dive into some fun with our double-sided Plush Cloth Battle Mats! I had the perfect chance to show them off when my friends wanted to play Battlegroup (best WW2 rules, hands down!). The scenario needed a river, so I thought, why not make a quick tutorial?

1️⃣ First pic: I built up riverbanks using some trusty pink foam.
2️⃣ Next, I covered the foam with old t-shirts to keep things snug and smooth out the edges.
3️⃣ Same treatment for the elevated road leading to the river – but I only raised it about 0.25 inches. Just enough to matter for 15mm troops and vehicles, but not enough to block line of sight across the table.
4️⃣ Then, I laid down our 60x80 double-sided Plush Cloth Battle Mat with Spring Grass. It’s perfect for European spring/summer vibes!
5️⃣ A quick snip snip and spray-paint on some brown felt that became our river, tucked neatly into the foam banks.
6️⃣ And voilà – the final setup! I'll throw in more pics in the comments if anyone’s interested. 😉

Howdy!
Figured I would take a few pics as I setup this table for a game of BoltAction with our new SnowField mat. Here I show the steps I take in setting up a simple 4x4 table with our 60x80 Plush Cloth Battle Mat.
First step is to plan out the basic shape of the battlefield and the orientation of the mat on the table. A subtle feature of these types of cloth mats is that you can play on a smaller table than it was designed for. And, you can spin around the cloth to get just the right parts of the image you want on the tabletop in the exact orientation you want. Here I have broken up some pieces of pink foam to use as my substrate.
Second step is to place our substrate pieces on the bare table and cover it with the plush cloth mat.
Third step is to massage the mat around the substrate pieces to get the desired effect. Sometimes you will want to place pieces of surface terrain on top of the mat to hold it in place or build out from the edges of the foam (or box or books) with things like old tshirts to reduce steep edges.
Fourth step is to put your surface terrain pieces on, get the painted minis out, and roll some dice!

3. Put some cool ruins on top and, don't forget the lychen. Crush up some plaster bits and spread them around - come on and get crafty with it.
