The benefits of yoga are endless.

It allows us to focus our attention inward. To give back to ourselves and listen to what we need in the moment.

Yoga helps to improve our physical health, allowing us to feel into the movements that are right for our bodies.

It provides a space to breathe and focus on you.

If you don’t already have a yoga practice, start with just a few minutes in your day.

Don’t know where to start? Shoot me a message and let’s chat about how we can integrate yoga into your routine!

This time of year Vitamin D is more important than ever. Not only is it important for any breast cancer survivor’s nutrition profile but as it gets darker earlier, many of us have less exposure to daily sun which can leave us feeling that seasonal depression quickly, especially if you are in the northeast 🍁. ✨WHAT YOU CAN DO✨ ☀️ Get out for a morning or daytime walk to make sure you get that natural light and sun exposure to your skin. This will also help with your sleep cycles. 🍄 Eat foods that provide Vitamin D naturally. Things like mushrooms, eggs, salmon and tuna are great sources to incorporate. 🐟Supplement with cod liver oil - a great option for those that don’t enjoy eating fish but still want to reap the benefits. And it comes with the added benefits of Omega-3’s which is great for inflammation in the body as well.Want to learn more ways to nourish your body and support good health? Interval training may sound intimidating but it is a simple and effective way to improve your cardiovascular health. 💗Intensity of your intervals can vary greatly. Starting can look like going out for a walk and incorporating intervals of faster walking throughout the session. It doesn’t mean you have to jog, run, or sprint. You want to push yourself just a little harder, for short bouts of time, to get out of your comfort zone and grow. Start where you are. Add to it as you feel stronger. Listen to your body and know that every time you put the effort in you are making positive change for your wellbeing and keep going. ✨Need a little guidance? Let me know how I can help you create a fitness routine that feels good for you! 👊 If you want to learn more write “interested” below or shoot me a message. The lymphatic system works to clean up waste and bacteria in the body helping to keep us healthy. When the system isn’t working properly this fluid can get backed up causing a number of issues. A large system, like our circulatory system, it moves fluid through the body but does not have a pump, like the heart, to push it along. It relies on the contraction of muscles and movement of the respiratory system to help. That is why things like walking, deep breathing, yoga and other gentle movements can help. Finding the right balance is really important. Often when we think of working out we want to push harder, move more, but that isn’t the case here. When we work too hard, we create more waste product to get rid of possibly causing more soreness, stiffness, and discomfort. Not sure what the right balance is for you? I can help! Shoot me a message and let me know! 😊 #breastcancerawareness #LymphaticSystem #MovementisMedicine

Morning routine is important for a successful day ahead. Adding an outdoor walk to your morning not only wakes you up and feels good but it helps to set your circadian rhythms and support better sleep. 😴 ☀️🚶‍♀️If you can’t get out first thing in the morning, adding in a walk anytime of the day is always beneficial so just get out and move your feet whenever you can!
