Tinsel K 24100 31/08/2024

~ Please share ~

Check out this precious soul Miss TINSEL (a.k.a. Miss Tenpenny)! She is a gorgeous chocolate and tan Cocker girl with white chest markings who is only 9 months old! Tinsel was surrendered from a breeder closure in western Kansas to RMCR CO. She is a spitfire with a sassy and funny personality who has a significant head start on her house manners and training. Tinsel is extremely smart and learns so fast!

Tinsel was recently in to see the vet and she was sick with a virus and had to rest and recuperate before we could move forward with her spay surgery and updating her basic vetting. Tinsel's expenses approached $400 for her care. This included her spay surgery, medications needed, bloodwork, testing and microchip.

If you can help sponsor some of Tinsel's veterinary care expenses please tag her web link below & share a little love for her care:

*** UPDATE ***
We have cleared expenses for the ! Now if we can keep up sharing and a couple more weeks of donations and we should get close to clearing the expenses for the other 8 that came in last weekend too!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH those of you who immediately tagged on to this post and shared and donated! You are
*****************************************************************
More than 13 dogs came into care this weekend alone! These surrenders came in from Kansas, Missouri, Colorado, Utah, and New Mexico! FIVE STATES!!!

Our team works diligently to say "yes we can help" as much as possible but it takes dedicated foster homes and it takes M.O.N.E.Y. We are riding the line on vetting expenses and need to issue a plea for help from rescue supporters, dog lovers, and anyone who can spare a little to help these kiddos get to their forever homes successfully.

That means we have a LOT of vetting to get squared away before that can happen. They all need spayed or neutered, baseline bloodwork to confirm health status, a couple of the boys need cherry eye corrective surgery, f***l and heartworm checks and we got them all microchipped. You would be amazed at the cost per dog!

The cost on the high end is upwards of $900 for the boys who need the additional cherry eye surgery, and on the low end $600 per dog that does not need anything outside the standard care expectation pending lab work results.

We recently had no choice but to raise adoption fees to $450 for dogs 2 years old and under, and seniors raised to $200 in an attempt to recuperate some expenses. But as you can see the adoption fees only cover barely half on the medical case needs and still don't cover the healthy dog intake standard vetting costs.
We've set a goal to raise $3,000 for this intake group of 5 puppers that originated in Kansas (listed below). Any overage will be applied to the other 8 dogs that came in this weekend as well.

Times are hard and things are tough for everyone, but if you can open your heart to these sweet faces and share a little it goes a very long way to helping the next intake request we receive.

Thank you all for following Rocky Mountain Cocker Rescue and Rocky Mountain Cocker Rescue KS/MO Branch
We will always go the extra mile and we appreciate your support because we know you have your heart in this too! Thank you for supporting this cause!

Transportation/fuel costs (Near $300) were donated for this group of five dogs by our volunteer drivers. A huge shout out of my BFF Sara from Colorado who met me halfway!

Photos from Rocky Mountain Cocker Rescue KS/MO Branch's post 11/04/2024

Early last month, I flew to southeast MO to get two dogs from a woman beginning the first steps of leaving an abusive relationship. The owner had much sadness, “this hurts, but I know I’m doing the right them for them.” My mom decided to travel with me and it was a great road trip home - another memory! Although we spent quite a bit of our own money (flying with just two days notice), getting the dogs quickly was necessary. One of the pooches has already found her forever home. “Sandy” is a beautiful buff prominent identifying freckles on her nose.

THIS is a reminder of why I (and a dedicated team of other volunteers) ❤️ what we do!

Is Fostering Right For Me? 26/02/2024

Hi KANSAS and MISSOURI COCKER FRIENDS:
We did not renew our KS and MO animal rescue licenses in Sept 2023 due to the lack of volunteers, but we hear you now. Informational meetings will begin in the Spring, so please don't let us down. Please go to our website and fill out an application to be a FOSTER or a VOLUNTEER today!

HOW DOES FOSTERING WORK?
ALL the details can be found on our website, but what's important is WE ASK approved fosters to choose the dog THEY WANT to foster; we don't just show up on your doorstep at midnight... or 5am.

After your phone interview and home passes our safety check, your email address is added to the FOSTER TEAM group. When a cocker-like dog knocks on our door asking for help, we email a picture, if provided, and the type of environment the dog needs, e.g., must be the only dog, no children, dog is not potty-trained, and whoever replies the fastest and has the right environment is the winner. THEN we show up on your doorstep (not really).

Lucy Lu #23096~ still ALL energetic, ornery puppy! About 1 year old and seeking her love match.

Lucy Lu really enjoys the company of her Cocker Spaniel friends, and loves to run! She is wicked fast and with proper training could possibly learn agility competition events!

She is house trained, and crate trained. Lucy has only had boo-boo's in the house when the weather is rainy and muddy or when her world gets off-kilter in a new situation where she is learning the new routine.

Lucy is a snuggler who loves both dudes and dudettes! Lol

Please visit the website Www.RockyMountainCockerRescue.org and complete an application today. If you are already pre-approved or an alumni adopter please email [email protected] for more details.

For donors who would like to help support rescue with an in-kind donation of food supplies before the end of the year or at any time.

Our Kansas group has created a list on Amazon that followers can view and donate a bag of food to support foster dogs in need as it has been almost a full year since our corporate food grant was closed. Food supplies in all of our locations is one of our greatest needs right now along with dedicated foster home caregivers. We are building contacts so that we can begin licensed fostering again full scale in 2024. Our 501(c)3 nonprofit FEIN is listed in the Amazon list and we can provide in-kind gift receipts on request.

In the meantime, if you can help support rescue by donating a bag of food, the link is here: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2HE1SIJFT6H7A?ref_=wl_share

Local Emporia KS area followers:
The Diamond Lamb & Rice formula shown on the Amazon list is available at BLUESTEM FARM & RANCH SUPPLY. It's always nice to keep it local and support our home owned businesses, so consider purchasing it locally there, just let Lonnie Standiferd know that the purchase is for Rocky Mountain Cocker Rescue KS, and that MiChielle Cooper can be contacted to pick up any donations left there.

Thank you all for your support during Colorado Gives 2023 Campaign and for your recent support of Mr. Dingo Bingo!

We appreciate all that you do for us!

WHY YOUR SUPPORT MATTERS!
WE NEED YOU KANSAS & MISSOURI SUPPORTERS!

See where our donations are put to use ~
Our average veterinarian costs for the last 3 years running was $92,000 annually. This year, 2023, we've already spent $138,000, and on track to spend yet another $50,000 more for Veterinary expenses only. That would land us at $188,000 spent for vetting our rescue dogs in 2023.

In 2023 we had large intakes from Missouri breeder closures and owner surrenders in Kansas and Missouri. Each dog has veterinary care and other expenses to get them ready to be adopted.
Examples of other expenses are:
1. Purchasing dog food
2. Rescue dog collars
3. Microchipping
4. Transportation costs

We are an all-volunteer organization so every single cent goes directly into the care and maintenance of fostered rescue puppers across all RMCR regions (which INCLUDES Kansas and Missouri)!

Please consider participating in our largest fundraiser of the year COLORADO GIVES now through December 5th!

KANSAS/MISSOURI Adopters and Donors WE NEED YOU! We are working toward getting our organization funded and prepared to re-launch in 2024. Donations made to Colorado Gives will support our re-energized efforts in 2024 as well.

Asking for a little help on for a little blonde boy named DINGO.

DIngo is a senior boy, born October 1st, 2010. He is an absolute delight! This blond boy is sweet, kind, and loving. He is housetrained, and very motivated by "yum yums". Dingo baby will do absolutely anything for a treat, even kennel for a few hours even though he is not a fan of kennel time.

Little Mister Dingo is in need of prescription food. Royal Canin Gastrointestinal low fat. As many of you know, prescription food is very costly. We are also trying to get caught up on getting Dingo brought into care and his baseline expenses. In total we are trying to raise about $500-$600 for Dingo baby :-)

This little guy is an absolute joy, he is happy and healthy now. No longer depressed and ready to die as it seemed when he was surrendered due to the death of his owner. With good quality food and a few meds we've got his labwork looking about perfect now, and he has energy to chase chickens along the fence line, hang with his foster dog crew friends and loves to watch TV with his foster daddio in the evenings. Dingo LOVES big cushy "cuddle cup" style beds, and he is an instant friend to everyone he meets (Including cats).

"Special" doesn't even begin to explain what a super star senior dude DINGO is.

Please consider donating today via the link below for DINGO #23121. Help us raise the funds to get us out of the red on his care and prescription food needs.

PLEASE SHARE this need. Help us make a big enough swath through social media to raise the few hundred dollars we need to hit break even point and cover Dingo's expenses.

Thank you all for supporting our rescue Cockers!

Dingo M 23121 Dingo will remain in the Recovery Room until cleared for adoption. Bio pending when we know more about Dingo. He is a friendly dog. He is said to be eager but also can be stubborn. Bio pending when we know more about Dingo.

Happy Adoption to the Darcy Dailey family!
Our little Miss Pixie K has found her love match with her new dog mama Darcy and her dog daddio Doug Dailey!

You can see from some of the "before" photos the lil' Pixie was in pretty horrible shape with her skin and coat. So matted and overgrown with hardened p**p that her skin could not breathe and she had a terrible skin infection. She got bathed, groomed and medicated with her foster mama MiChielle Cooper in KS. That rest and recuperation time formed a true bond, and Pixie learned how wonderful it is to be a real member of a family.

The Dailey's are continuing their family tradition of as this is their 3rd Adoption of a Cocker Spaniel girl! Recently, their lovely Maggie Moo passed away so we know Miss Pix will be a healing balm to that hole in their hearts and she will be an uplifting friend to her new dog sissy Minnie Moo who is now 15 years old.

Thanks to the Dailey Family ~ We know Pixie and Minnie Moo are greatly loved.
