Growler IHS
The Growler is published by the students of the newspaper production class at Ithaca High School.
The Growler is made possibly by advertisements, subscriptions, and fund raising, which pays for printing and other expenses. Its primary purpose is to inform, entertain, and educate it readers, including students, faculty, community members, and subscribers, about issues which affect the general student body.
The 2020 yearbook is in! Be sure to stop by Kemme’s room before or after school to get your copy!
We have a handful of extra copies available too — they’re priced at $50/each.
Are you a graduated senior or a virtual student? Call or email Kemme ahead of time to have it waiting for you in the office to pick-up!
If you could travel back in time and give your freshman self advice, what would it be? 🧐
TODAY (6/26) is the LAST day our publisher will allow yearbook orders to be placed online. Make sure you reserve your copy ASAP at www.yearbookforever.com

ICYMI: our photo gallery from last night has been posted on Facebook.
There are also print copies of the Growler still available at the school (they’re located in the vestibule area by the main office). A link to a digital version of the Growler will also be posted in the comments below.
Getting started!
Remember to grab your copy of the Growler tonight at graduation!
If you can’t be there in person, be sure to catch the livestream on the school’s page. We will also be posting a digital version of the paper later tonight, so be sure to check back for the link.
And I don’t know who needs to hear this, but make sure you put on sunscreen and bring some water tonight if you plan on attending 👏👏👏
If you see any of these smiling faces today, be sure to congratulate them — it’s finally graduation day!
The kids ask me every year which issue of the Growler I think is our best... I always tell them that my favorite one is whichever one that I’m currently holding.
This issue might break that habit — a lot of schools skipped printing a final issue this year, but our little ragtag COVID staff managed to pull off a beautiful, full issue for the seniors. We even managed to print it ahead of schedule (!!!)
It really speaks volumes about how amazing the Growler staff has been this year — especially our senior editors, Clare and Sydney. This has truly been a labor of love for the senior class and our community 💛💙
Be sure to pick up your copy at graduation!

Hello!
Two quick updates:
1) As of this morning, we’re 98% finished with the senior issue of the newspaper. We will have print copies available at the lawn graduation and will be publishing it digitally (like always). If something goes wrong with graduation (knock on wood), we will still have print copies available at the school.
2) If you haven’t ordered your yearbook yet, PLEASE DO. We need to close the online order window soon, and we’re not planning on ordering any extra copies. You can order online at www.yearbookforever.com
Find School There's a great new way to show our school spirit! On Walsworth Yearbook's new site, you can buy this year's yearbook or a yearbook ad. I showed my school spirit, and you should too. Just go to the website and have fun!

Hey seniors! I just blocked off a section of the fence for the locks! 🔒🎉
HEY SENIORS:
If you haven’t checked your email yet, we just sent you something about SENIOR LOCKS — it’s a super cool idea from Sydney M. and Megan H., and we want to do it next week on Tuesday and Wednesday during the scheduled cap and gown pick-up times 🙌
🚨🚨🚨ICYMI 🚨🚨🚨
The WMLM radio station wants to include a pre-recorded tidbit from each student after their name is read about their future plans (“My name is A. I will be attending X, where I’ll be majoring in Y to become a Z” kind of thing) in the graduation broadcast later this week. The station needs the message to be emailed as a MP3 file to [email protected] by noon tomorrow (5/27).
Most iPhones already have a voice memo app that can be used to record this file and other apps are available online — the station just stressed that it needed to be an audio file, NOT a video file with audio on it.
This pre-recorded message is optional (Mr. Palmer and Mr. Hessbrook will be reading their plans otherwise — they have the list that was submitted to the yearbook staff and used for the senior Facebook posts), but will help make the broadcast special.
HUGE shoutout to Mr. Cooper for piecing this together! 🙌
Congratulations, Class of 2020! 🎉🎊🎉🎊
Congratulations to the 2019-2020 Growler staff on taking home a SILVER ranking at the Michigan Interscholastic Press Association’s journalism contest today!
This is a statewide contest by Michigan State University. We earned a silver based off of the overall design, photography, and writing in our newspaper this year... way to go! 🥳
