With the Hemmings 1936 Chevrolet panel truck being a part of their collection in Bennington, Vermont, the company believes that part of the attraction is proving that they can make good with a modest investment of funds while pouring hours of labor and parts chasing to get to the finish line.

As the final triage of both the 250ci inline six and its fatal valvetrain situation as well as the barn find 292 oil pan knock determined, it’s time to simply tear the latter down and evaluate its condition in hopes that Hemmings can literally seal it all up, replace a few service parts that time has not been friendly to, and get this truck back on the road. https://bit.ly/3zPtlrE

Even the pro detailers make mistakes. In this video from Meguiar's , learn how to avoid some of those errors yourself.

Communication - Not communicating as effectively or as thoroughly as possible. Communication is key to understanding what the customer wants and is willing to pay you. Also, remember the saying under promise, over deliver. Finally, don't go for perfection unless the customer is willing to pay for it.

Spot Test - If you don't do a test spot when correcting paint, you're setting yourself up for a lot more work, potential trouble, and mistakes. Do a spot test and pay close attention to how the paint reacts to the products you're using your method, and the machine and pad you're using. This will help give you the direction needed to correct the paint properly and efficiently.

Technology - As we know, technology is always changing. If you don't keep up with the latest machines, equipment, compounds, pads, etc. you could be missing out on things that could help you do your job more effectively and efficiently.

Technique & Skill - Sometimes we see where detailers have every new product that hits the market, but they don't fully develop their skill set or know all the nuances of each product they have. It's better to develop a solid understanding of just a few products that work and perform really well. Another suggestion is don't work too quickly or use overly aggressive products. Finally, clean your pads regularly, this will help ensure you get the best results.

Protect yourself - ear protection, gloves, eye protection, mask. Don't make the mistake that you don't need to protect yourself. It's a good idea to play it safe and protect yourself if you are exposed to products and chemicals day in and day out. https://bit.ly/4cGif6M

For about a million years, Center Line Wheels were the go-to rims for street heroes and racers alike. Then some stuff happened and Center Line had to close its doors in 2017.

But the classic Center Line wheels are back thanks to a major player in the wheel industry. The two-piece aluminum wheels feature a stamped lip riveted to a forged center section. The lip is made using a deep-drawn stamping process that makes the aluminum denser and stronger. The center section is precision computer-milled to remove the right amount of material. That makes the wheels lightweight without sacrificing strength. Center Line even upgraded the rivets from 8mm to 10mm to enhance the wheels’ structural integrity.

Summit Racing Equipment carries these classic Center Line Wheel designs. They all come with center caps that have that famous logo on ‘em.

The Auto Drag 2.0 is definitely a member of the Muscle Car Wheel Hall of Fame. It’s available with a natural brushed finish or a satin black finish.

The Convo Pro 2.0 features a five-spoke star pattern center section with that distinctive scalloped and polished lip with polished rivets. You can also get your Convo Pros with a satin black finish.

The Telstars have a five-spoke center section with machined windows and a recessed lug nut pad. They’re available fully polished or in satin black.

REV 2.0 wheels feature five circular windows flanked by five triangular windows—they’re the geometry lesson of the wheel world. Your choice of fully polished or satin black finishes.

Last year, the intrepid staff of Hemmings Classic Car was on the road in the Hemmings minivan when a traveler at a gas stop had a mild interrogation of Editor Matt Litwin and Senior Editor David Conwill. The conversation came down to this, “C’mon guys. A minivan? Hemmings can do better than that?”

Matt and Dave are not likely to back down but said traveler had a point. But with the success of their antics with the recently sold ‘40 Buick from last season, the duo knew they had the right project back home in Bennington, Vermont.

The goal was to build a road-ready Hemmings-liveried classic that will deliver road-ready reliability all summer long with modest upgrades that make this panel the perfect road trip companion. It started back in January addressing the fuel tank. This time around, They’re checking to see if the 250ci inline six can run despite the stuck valves and bent pushrods. https://bit.ly/3VIrPi7
