I am an educator, advocate, artist, storyteller, mother, sister, and auntie. I specialize
in the creation one of a kind hand-stitched multicultural dolls and contemporary accessories. I also love to teach children about Indigenous culture through storytelling and the arts. When I'm not working on a project I'm busy dreaming up my next creation. I graduated from the University of Montana with degrees in Social Work and Psychology and have been an advocate for Missoula families for nearly 10 years. I am a Native American Education Specialist for my local school district and the artist/creator behind Dear Kokum Creations. I am a proud mother who resides in the ancestral homelands of the Séliš and Ql̓ispé people. About the Name:
The name “Dear Kohkum” came to me when I first started creating and was mostly gifting pieces to friends and family. It felt like, and still feels like, creating and continuing these traditions is a love letter to my grandmothers. Kohkum means grandma in Cree.
