The Boston Book Festival presents Hubbub: Creative Commotion, a festival for kids and families June 4, 2016 in Boston's Copley Square. Need a break?
Want to stir up some creative commotion? Join us at Hubbub, a new, free festival for children and families, celebrating creativity, inventiveness, and exploration, coming to Copley Square on June 20, 2015. Hubbub is presented by the Boston Book Festival, but books are just the beginning of what you'll discover. At Hubbub, world-class artists, authors, and performers will inspire children's own ima
gination and creative vision. Toddlers through preteens can enjoy an experimental puppet show, giggle at a storyteller's antics, or be wonderstruck by the skills of a musician or roving acrobat. Fueled by that inspiration, it'll be their turn to create, invent, and explore—perhaps making their own science project, crafting a comic strip story, or contributing their own beats to a drum circle. Hubbub's outdoor tents will burst with opportunities for active, hands-on learning. At our BrainStorm tent, kids can turn imagination into reality by designing, tinkering, and building. At Peekaboo, even the tiniest attendees can get into the act, with finger painting, sensory explorations, and bubbles galore. On the lawn, kids can explore a variety of wellness activities, from yoga to hip hop dance, from obstacle courses to circus arts. We've got that covered, too, with performances by a variety of local and regional artists on the outdoor stage and food trucks galore to keep everyone full and happy. We believe that curiosity, excitement, wonder, and play are the keys to lifelong learning. Come get inspired at Hubbub and continue to play, create, and learn all summer long!
