Karate in the Olympics ?
My view : Worst idea ever, why?
Karate + politics + money = disaster
Sports karate is all of the above and well Shotokan has the worst level of this as compared to other forms of okinawan te. Its drifted far away from real karate.
Yes karate is spread worldwide because of sports karate, but it has gotten so watered down people now believe in the false bunkai they are taught. They believe because they win a fight in competitions/international championships they can consider themselves invincible.
Get ready for some mind boggling bouncing clowns on the international stage. Here comes the new level of karate corruption.
