We designed with the aim of evoking the same mood and feel of the owner’s childhood home in Saudi Arabia. The traditional folk sadu Arabian weave on the benches, combined with the dark wood floors, turquoise textured paint on the walls and geometric Arabic decorative panels with arch detailing for a private dining space, all work together to create an inviting and cozy atmosphere.

Our goal was to provide a pleasant dining experience where customers can enjoy not only the delicious food but also the beautiful ambience that transports them to Saudi Arabia.

We revitalized the pendant lights salvaged from the original bookstore by giving them a new purpose on the second level, infusing the space with a renewed sense of ambiance and character.

This project marks our first design collaboration. Tasked by Wardah’s owner, we embarked on revamping this cherished bookshop which nestled at Bussorah Street, under the theme ‘Readers, come home,’ honoring the affection of Wardah’s loyal patrons and celebrating over 20 years of its establishment. We strive to celebrate the essence of the original Wardah while crafting a space that resonates with its legacy.
