As the 50th Anniversary of Duxford Air Show approaches on 14 October 2023, let's take a trip down memory lane back to 1985.
For Yvonne Wyatt and her husband, Duxford will always hold a special place in their lives. "My first date with my husband, my then boyfriend, was at the September 1985 Duxford air show. We both loved air shows, and he brought me all the way from north London to attend. While we were there, he took a photo of me, and had it developed to keep in his wallet; he carried the photo around in his wallet since the day he took it. We married in 1988 and returned to the September Duxford air show every year without fail to celebrate our first date and Duxford’s role in our love story."

Our next event after The Victory Show, a busy month ahead
BUDE AT WAR IS ON!!!
We have an incredible weekend booked. The work for this has been going on for over a year.... whatever rumours are flying - please ignore them. I personally will not let anyone down. We have a great team and everything is in place, it has been for a long while. Right now we, I, need your belief, trust and support.
WHAT IS ON
We have the BIGGEST D-DAY landing ever, on the same beach that The 2nd Battalion Rangers trained on 80 years ago. We have FW44; 29th, Dog Co, Landing craft and others taking part in this including a cliff climb.
FOR RE-ENACTORS- concessions, GI dance tickets, meal deals, Free live music night on Friday. I have been in personal contact with you all directly and know that I have kept you advised of many things. Arrival information will be going out this week. Anticipated footfall of 10,000. The event is right next to the town centre and beach, so is very busy. Currently 48 vehicles and 13 re-enactment groups confirmed. I, and our whole community will be devastated if people pull out based on rumour.

Speeches from Eisenhower, Churchill, Patton and Montgomery;
The Biggest darn D-Day landing ever. We have paid for all fire power and ammo.
Support from British Legion, Royal Marine Assc, Royal Navy Assc, All army cadets
Closing ceremony
