A LESSON FROM A FROG
Place a frog in a pot of water and start heating it. Normally, as the water heats up, the frog, being ectothermic, would adjust its body temperature to match the changing environment. Frogs usually seek cooler areas or attempt to escape if the temperature becomes uncomfortable.
However, let’s consider Mr. Toby the Tolerant Frog, who finds himself in a pot of water where the temperature rises gradually. Mr. Toby continues to adapt as the water warms, but when the temperature nears boiling, he is no longer able to adjust.
In this scenario, Mr. Toby attempts to jump out, but he struggles because he has used up much of his energy trying to adapt to the increasing heat. Eventually, he succumbs to the rising temperature.
What truly led to Mr. Toby’s demise?
While many might say it was the boiling water, the real issue was his inability to decide when to escape.
Similarly, in life, we must be mindful of when to adapt and when to bail out. If we allow people to exploit us physically, mentally, emotionally or financially, they will continue to do so. Tolerating abuse means allowing ourselves to be exploited or overwhelmed by circumstances, which risks losing our mental strength and resources.
We must choose when to act and when to jump while we still can.
Learn to say, "Enough is enough."
Today I stop to celebrate my KING, my amazing HUSBAND, my ROCK, my SAFE PLACE, my one and only LOVE. Roderick C. Lucious I love you, I'm grateful for all you do for your family. Enjoy your day my ❤️.

"I was waiting in line for a ride at the airport. When a cab pulled up, the first thing I noticed was the taxi was polished to a bright shine. Smartly dressed in a white shirt, black tie, and freshly pressed black slacks, the cab driver jumped out and rounded the car to open the back passenger door for me.
He handed me a laminated card and said, 'I'm Wasu, your driver. While I'm loading your bags in the trunk, I'd like you to read my mission statement.'
Taken aback, I read the card. It said, 'Wasu's Mission Statement: To get my customers to their destination in the quickest, safest, and cheapest way possible in a friendly environment.'
This blew me away. Especially when I noticed the inside of the cab matched the outside. Spotlessly clean!
As he slid behind the wheel, Wasu said, 'Would you like a cup of coffee? I have a thermos of regular and one of decaf.'
I said jokingly, 'No, I'd prefer a soft drink.'
Wasu smiled and said, 'No problem. I have a cooler up front with regular and Diet Coke, lassi, water, and orange juice.'
Almost stuttering, I said, 'I'll take a lassi since I’ve never had one before.'
Handing me my drink, Wasu said, 'If you'd like something to read, I have Good Housekeeping magazine, Reader’s Digest, The Bible, and a Travel + Leisure magazine.'
As we were pulling away, Wasu handed me another laminated card, 'These are the stations I get and the music they play, if you'd like to listen to the radio.'
And as if that weren't enough, Wasu told me he had the heater on and asked if the temperature was comfortable for me.
Then he advised me of the best route to my destination for that time of day. He also let me know he'd be happy to chat and tell me about some of the sights or, if I preferred, to leave me with my own thoughts.
'Tell me, Wasu,' I was amazed and asked him, 'have you always served customers like this?'
Wasu smiled into the rear view mirror. 'No, not always. In fact, it's only been in the last two years. My first five years driving, I spent most of my time complaining like all the rest of the cabbies do. Then I heard about power of choice one day.'
'Power of choice is that you can be a duck or an eagle. If you get up in the morning expecting to have a bad day, you'll rarely disappoint yourself. Stop complaining! Don't be a duck. Be an eagle. Ducks quack and complain. Eagles soar above the crowd.'
'That hit me right,' said Wasu. He continued and said, 'It is about me. I was always quacking and complaining, so I decided to change my attitude and become an eagle. I looked around at the other cabs and their drivers. The cabs were dirty, the drivers were unfriendly, and the customers were unhappy. So I decided to make some changes. I put in a few at a time. When my customers responded well, I did more.'
'I take it that has paid off for you,' I said.
'It sure has,' Wasu replied. 'My first year as an eagle, I doubled my income from the previous year. This year, I'll probably quadruple it. My customers call me for appointments on my cell phone or leave a message on it.'
Wasu made a different choice. He decided to stop quacking like ducks and start soaring like eagles. I hope we all decide to soar like an eagle and not quack like a duck."

A boy graduates from high school and as a graduation present his father hands him car keys and says, "Congratulations, this is a car I bought a while ago... It is a few years old. But before I give it to you, take it to a car dealer in the city and sell it , see how much they offer.”
The boy came back to his father and said: "They offered $10,000 because it looks very old"
The father said: Ok now leave there and take it to the 2nd hand car dealer down the road.
The boy returns to his father and says: "The 2nd hand car dealer offered $5000 because it is an old car and requires costly repairs before they can resell it"
A father asked his son to join a passionate car club in the community and show them the car. The boy joined the club and took the car to a car show the car club was hosting. He returned from the show and said to his father: “Some people in the club offered me $100,000 because it is a rare car that is in very good condition, with great potential.”
Then the father said, "I wanted you to see that you are not worth anything if you are not in the right place. If you are not appreciated, do not be angry, do not lose self confidence, and do not lower your self worth . It only means you are in the wrong place. Don't stay in a place where no one sees your value. Leave this place and find the right place with people that recognize and appreciate your value"

Good Friday was the last day of Jesus’ life on earth before His resurrection. He was betrayed by Judas, as predicted, and denied by Peter, as predicted. His disciples scattered. He was arrested and was placed on trial falsely. He was condemned, beaten, mocked, and required to carry His own cross to the place where He was crucified and died. “The soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and put it on his head.” Though he was offered something to dull the physical pain, Jesus refused. He chose to face the pain of death head on. They stripped Him of His clothes and cast lots for them, fulfilling another prophecy.
Two prisoners were crucified alongside Jesus. One mocked Him, but the other said, “‘Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.’ Jesus answered him, ‘Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise’” (Luke 23:39-43). Amidst the most cruel, unfair, unjust, and painful death a human body could endure, Jesus chose to respond in grace to the criminal beside Him and care for His mother and best friend. “When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to her, ‘Woman, here is your son,’ and to the disciple, ‘Here is your mother’” (John 19:25-27). At noon, Jesus cried out “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit,” and died.
It was at about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon, for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two.” -Luke 23:44-46
Jesus was taken down from the cross, wrapped in linens, and placed in a tomb.
Sitting here feeling grateful to celebrate both my birthday and Donna's Creative Designs birthday. Today DCD is 6 yrs old. Loving the life God has blessed me with. Feeling grateful.
