FilaBlend
We are a specialty 3D Printing Filament manufacturer based in Indiana. We make multi-colored filament, and we love the 3D community!
FilaBlend is an American 3D Printing Filament manufacturer. We make awesome multi-colored filaments that are unlike anything you've ever seen! It all started with a hair brained experiment at our makerspace, went viral in a Reddit post, and has now officially launched into a company! We love 3D printing, and we're really excited about our products. Thank you for supporting us and being our customer!
To all of our amazing friends, customers, and loyal fans:
We wanted to take the time to say thanks to each and every one of you for your support over the years. Truly, thank you. When we started FilaBlend in late 2017, we wanted to share something that we thought was fun and unique with the world. You all have made it so much more than that. We formed a brand overnight and shipped our first products in less than 24 hours. We sponsored and attended our first MRRF 3 months later, and have continued to grow steadily. We have customers from all over the world, and it’s been such an amazing adventure. We read every email, post, and comment with pride, and have loved every single minute of it. We truly have the best customers on the planet. However, as with all things, this too must come to an end.
FilaBlend has always been a “side gig” that we’ve worked on from our homes in the evenings and weekends. We listen to the machines running while we’re spending time with our families, and deliver packages to the post office on our lunch breaks. To continue growing and evolving, the company deserves more time, space, and attention than the 4 of us can continue devoting to it. Life changes and the next season for all of us is rapidly approaching.
Dan and Joy are planning to start a new side business creating unique and creative gifts and awards with a focus on CNC and laser engraving. As their three young boys get older, they are more and more involved with activities, sports, music, and Scouting.
Jim has worked at Notre Dame for more than a decade. This was the year that AV technology saved higher education, and it’s taken every ounce of his time and attention to meet that call and to keep successful hybrid classes running. Jim will continue to be a familiar face in the 3D printing world as he catches his breath, spends time with his wife and two dogs, and pursues some of his other product designs and 3D printing adventures.
Robert will continue to focus on healthcare consulting as there was a tremendous amount of work that had to be done during the pandemic and even more that needs to be done as the world (fingers crossed) starts to come out of this pandemic.
If we can find someone to take the reins of FilaBlend and keep producing this unique product, you’ll be the first to know through email and social media. We want this product and the art and creativity that it inspires to carry on. If you are interested in writing FilaBlend's next chapter, we’d love to talk to you.
Sincerely,
The FilaBlend Team (Joy, Dan, Jim, and Robert)
