Hear from brother .kuper about his internship experience this summer!

“Hi everyone! My name is Eddie Kuper and I’m an incoming Sophomore majoring in Industrial & Systems Engineering. I’ll be serving as director of financial wellness this fall.

This summer I had the opportunity to be an engineering intern at DriveOhio, a smart mobility initiative inside of the Ohio Department of Transportation located in Columbus, Ohio. DriveOhio focuses on developing, testing, and implementing automotive technologies related to electric vehicles, connected vehicles, and self-driving vehicles. My role was focused on assisting with the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Program. My daily tasks revolved around sorting, transferring, and analyzing data related to electric vehicles and EV chargers using Excel and Power BI. I was fortunate to work with a great team which is something I really enjoyed and using all the corporate buzzwords was also a lot of fun!

PGN played a crucial role in landing this internship. The professional development from the new member semester as well as having the chance to be on both sides of an interview allowed me to put my best foot forward in the recruitment process!“

Hear from brother about her study abroad experience this summer!

“Hello! My name is Megan Witt, and I am a rising junior studying marketing and hospitality management. I am serving as PGN’s External Director of Marketing this semester!

For the month of May, I participated in the Fisher Global Consulting: Corporate program in Lisbon, Portugal. During my time, I worked alongside a team of consultants for the company DFK Portugal. Our project involved conducting a thorough analysis of the stone paper market and providing recommendations to mock stakeholders. Through this journey, I learned a great deal about the consulting industry and gained hands-on experience with market research.

Following the program, I spent the next two weeks exploring Italy, France, and England. Some of my favorite places to visit were the Eiffel Tower and Tower Bridge. During my travels, I even had the chance to meet up with brother !

I believe that my time in Europe helped me grow both personally and professionally as I have grown in my independence and sharpened my cultural mindset. I also gained invaluable friends and knowledge throughout my journey, making me extremely grateful for my experience abroad.

If you have any questions about the Fisher Global Consulting program, please don’t hesitate to reach out!”

Hear from brother about her internship experience this summer!

“Hi!  I’m Scarlett Kiss, a rising second-year finance major from Washington, DC!

This summer, I am a Dual Executive Intern at the Canopy by Hilton and the Hyatt House Washington DC The Wharf, a dual property located in Washington, DC, under Concord Hospitality Enterprises in DC’s Hotel Management/Hospitality industry.
I participate in a rotational program, working in several departments:

Sales: I assist in executing sales strategies, conducting market research to identify potential clients and new business opportunities, coordinating banquets/events, ensuring high client satisfaction, and creating rooming lists for both properties.

Human Resources: I manage employee records to ensure compliance with policies and laws, assist in the recruitment process, including screening resumes and conducting interviews, and organize training programs to improve employee performance.

Finance/Accounting: I prepare financial reports and budgets, contribute to accurate financial forecasting, support the team with daily bookkeeping tasks, print monthly tax-exempt folios, and conduct financial analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities.

Revenue Management: I review the P&L monthly reports, monitor hotel revenue, manage inventory levels, and analyze booking patterns and market trends.

One of my favorite parts is experiencing the diverse aspects of hotel management and hospitality. I also love being at The Wharf in DC as it is a vibrant waterfront destination offering scenic views, diverse dining, live entertainment, and shopping, making it a lively and popular spot for both locals and tourists.

Interacting with hotel guests has also been one of the highlights of my internship. Each day presents a chance to make someone’s stay memorable, and I treasure the personal connections I have formed along the way.

Shoutout to PGN and my Professional Mentor , who helped prepare me for this opportunity.”

Hear from brother .planner23 about her study abroad experience this summer!

“Hi! My name is Audrey Planner and I am a rising junior majoring in Finance and minoring in Spanish.

This summer I pursued a two month internship in Barcelona, Spain through the Fisher Global Internship program. I worked as a business development intern focusing on market research, database building, and customer support.

Barcelona was a great city to live in for numerous reasons. I was fortunate to stay in one of the best neighborhoods in Barcelona allowing for a less touristy environment. I enjoyed being able to live amongst and interact with locals on a daily basis. From my neighborhood, I was also only a few metro stops away from any place I’d wish to travel to whether it be downtown, the beach, or any of Barcelona’s famous attractions like La Sagrada Familia or Park Güell.

One of my favorite parts about being abroad was the travel. Being in Barcelona for two months, I was able to explore the city during the week while being able to travel to different countries such as Morocco and Italy on the weekends. Each of these experiences was unique in their own way and I appreciated being able to see many different cultures. Also being in Spain when they won the Euros⚽️ was awesome.

Being home and reflecting on my time abroad, I am beyond grateful for the experience. I was able to develop my professional and Spanish skills as well as immerse myself into many different cultures. I could not recommend going abroad more and would love to talk to anyone interested in an abroad program :)”

Hear from brother about her internship experience this summer!

“Hey everyone! My name is Olivia and I am a rising junior studying operations management and logistics management. I am a first generation Polish-American from New York City.

This summer I have had the opportunity to intern at the most influential social media company of our time, Barstool Sports. I was based out of the NYC office working for the digital media company that produces sports and pop-culture content. With over 200 million followers, it is considered to have one of the most loyal and engaged audiences.

During my time I worked as an Operations Intern with the commerce team. My tasks primarily involved updating ERP with tracking information and completing OS&D to ensure accurate records and maintaining four different Shopify stores including Barstool Sports, Old Row, Miss Peaches Peaches, and Stella Blue Coffee. I also conducted data analysis, generated reports on order and shipment metrics, and supported inventory management across  platforms including Shopify, Tiktok shop, Netsuite ERP, and 3PL WMS.

My internship at Barstool was beyond amazing! I had a phenomenal team that has helped me gain insights into the sports media industry. Understanding the intersection of sports, entertainment, and digital media has broadened my perspective on operational strategies. Additionally, learning the unique business model of Barstool has shown me the modern day strategy to capitalize on rapid trend cycles using POD.

Beyond the position itself the company as a whole is such a fun place to work. It’s extremely laid back with a work hard play hard culture. I was presented with many opportunities to hang out with our talent and hear about their journey at barstool. I worked a hybrid schedule yet always found myself going into the office to hang out with the interns, grab some merch, or watch a podcast get filmed!

I am more than happy to connect and answer any questions!”

Hear from brother about her study abroad experience!

“Hi everyone, I’m Maggie Slack! I am a rising sophomore, studying logistics management with a minor in Spanish for Business. This semester I will be Director of Professionalism for PGN!

This May I participated in the Fisher College of Business Freshman Global Lab in Hamburg, Germany. This program integrated lectures, company visits, and cultural experiences.

The lectures helped us compare logistics in Europe to the United States as well as focusing on technology such as AI that the Hamburg port and others are using. We also visited a couple of companies, receiving presentations and manufacturing plant tours. It was impressive to see a step by step process of manufacturing and transportation of products. Lastly, we traveled to different cities in Germany, including Berlin. We went on historical tours and did many fun activities as a group to immerse ourselves in the culture!

I am so grateful for this experience. I learned so much and had an amazing time in Germany with my classmates. After this, I am even more interested in the global aspect of logistics and cannot wait to become more involved in the field. Thank you to the PGN members who informed me about this program and for the entire organization for giving me the courage to keep pushing myself!“

Hear from brother about her study abroad experience this summer!

“Hey everyone! My name is Ana Nicoloulias and I’m an incoming junior majoring in Marketing with a minor in Modern Greek!

This summer I had the opportunity to study the Modern Greek language for a month and a half in Greece through a program called THYESPA. Through this program, I got to take classes at the University of Athens everyday with people from all around the world interested in learning about the Modern Greek language. We also had the opportunity to go on weekly feild trips to historical museums and ancient ruins all around the Athens area to help build our knowledge on the history and culture of Greece.

There was a great balance between the class work and experience-based learning which made the program helpful for me. On the weekends, we were encouraged to travel on our own to practice our language skills and to get comfortable speaking outside of the classroom. I was also able to create connections with people all over the world through our interests in studying the Greek language, as well as connect with people I wouldn’t have otherwise been able to comunicate with.

I am very grateful for the opportunity to continue my Greek studies from OSU and apply it in a real-world setting, which has helped me grow stronger as a Greek speaker. I credit PGN for continuously encouraging me to challenge myself both personally and academically. Feel free to reach out with any questions about the program or my experience :)”

Hear from brother about his internship experience this summer!

“Hi everyone ! I’m John George, an upcoming junior double majoring in Operations Management and Economics. I will be taking up the role of Director of Fundraising this fall.

I’ve had the opportunity to intern with Cummins Inc. this summer. Headquartered in Columbus, IN, a Fortune 500 legacy engine manufacturer pioneering advances in the diesel industry but has since developed Natural Gas, Gasoline, Hydrogen and Electric power generating solutions for vehicles, marine applications, defense applications, buildings and structures around the world.

This summer I’ve taken up the role of Logistics and Planning intern within the Engine Business Unit. My tasks primarily revolve around finding opportunities within our existing supply chain network that can be implemented within the next 2 to 5 years, while also working on projects related to safety, purchasing and operations which has helped me gain a lot of experience within the manufacturing industry.

I’ve really enjoyed working with my team, especially my direct manager and the other interns on our team as we’ve been able to build a strong connection with each other and are very open about supporting each others roles and projects. Super fun thing about Cummins, they let interns use the Corporate jet to visit different manufacturing sites across the country which was a really cool experience.

As proud sponsors of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Indy 500 and Brickyard 400, we received tickets for these events and they are a lot louder than what you might imagine but it was a really fun experience watching these nail biting races.

It would be an understatement to say this is a dream internship for me, PGN prepped through all of the application process from interviewing to resume building.

Please feel free to reach out and ask me anything else about my experience or the company in general.”

Hear from brother .mccray about her internship experience this summer!

“Hello everyone! My name is Hannah McCray, and I am entering into my junior year as a Finance major. This semester, I will be the recruitment event director for PGN!

Over the summer, I have had the incredible opportunity to intern at Union Home Mortgage in Strongsville, Ohio. I am a partner in their post-closing construction department as part of their L.E.A.D. summer internship program. Union Home Mortgage is an equal opportunity housing lender, committed to making homeownership accessible to everyone with their slogan “Promises Kept.” The internship program at UHM is truly exceptional, with 55 interns working across the Strongsville headquarters. As interns we have been able to participate in days of service, lunch ‘n learns, grow as professionals, and gain valuable insights into the mortgage process.

In the construction department, I work closely with my team to oversee the new home construction and completion process. My responsibilities include preparing and receiving modification documents for new construction loans, requesting and sending out draw checks, and conducting escrow holdback calls to ensure work is completed following the loan closing process. One of the highlights of my internship has been witnessing how UHM operates as a private company. They prioritize transparency and invest heavily in their interns, which has been truly inspiring.

I am grateful to PGN for playing a crucial role in helping me secure this internship. A special shoutout to for her continuous guidance throughout this journey. Thank you, PGN, for being a driving force behind my professional growth and development.

Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or interest in UHM!”

Hear from brother about her study abroad experience this summer! Jessa will also be doing a story takeover on July 15th, so make sure you tune in to learn more about her time in Greece!

“Hey everyone! I’m Jessa Boch and I’m a rising sophomore studying mechanical engineering.

This past May, I participated in the Architecture and Engineering of Ancient Greece program through the engineering school at OSU. The first week of May, my classmates and I had a class everyday on the Columbus campus preparing us for our trip. During this class, we studied the basics of the country and what sites we would see.

Once we were in Greece, we traveled all across the country and visited famous sites. I learned so much not only about Greece, but also the history of engineering and how it has evolved over time. There was a great balance of learning about engineering and also the culture of the country.

Since coming home, I have not stopped thinking about my experience. I was nervous yet excited, but now I am forever grateful for taking this opportunity- it’s something I will never forget. My love for engineering and Greece has only grown stronger and I am so grateful for my time in Greece with The Ohio State University.”

“Hey everyone! My name is Justin Vescera and I’m an incoming junior Finance major currently serving as the VPF in PGN.

This summer I am working for EY in their Boston office as a National Consulting Launch Intern. EY is a Big 4 accounting firm that also specializes in consulting. Under National Consulting, you may take place in Finance, Supply Chain, Government, and People Consulting. I am currently in a Supply Chain Tech Consulting rotation working for a Fortune 500 energy company. Some of my daily tasks right now include summarizing large functional documents and facilitating touchpoint meetings. I will later rotate into a Finance Consulting position for a Fortune 500 manufacturing company. My favorite thing about working for EY would be how friendly and willing to help the employees are.

PGN was monumental in getting me this internship. The network you are able to make in this organization is amazing. One of my interviewers was actually a PGN alum at a different university!”
