We are very excited to host our 26th Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament on September 13th! Thank you to everyone who has donated so far! There are still sponsorship opportunities available to those interested. Have a fantastic Labor Day weekend!
What a busy day for Curwin Circle youth! Their first stop was at City Hall to meet the Mayor and pick up donated supplies from City employees & Chris Nardone at Salem Five. Then, the longtime Curwin family from the “Flora Epps Giving Fund” came to our Recreation Hall to give out backpacks in honor of their mother who lived in Curwin Circle for over 30 years. We also received donations of school supplies and boxes of baby formula from Centerboard. In the evening, the Lynn Police Department, Mayor's Office, and Jay Walsh stopped by to chat with the Curwin community. We are grateful for everyone who took part in this eventful day!

Here are more highlights and happy faces from our 2024 Family Day!
This past weekend LHAND families enjoyed a day of fun activities, treats, and community! Attendees were treated to goodie bags, pony rides, face painting, crafts, and more. This event could not have been possible without the planning efforts of our Family Success Center staff. We can't wait for next year's celebration of Family Day!

Today was a beautiful day to have a cookout! Many of our Wall Plaza tenants came out to enjoy delicious food cooked and prepared by our very own staff. A special thank you to Mayor Jared Nicholson for visiting us! It was a great time and very appreciated by our residents.
At the last Lynn Continuum of Care's meeting, Brandy Rodriguez had the pleasure of presenting Harry McCabe with the 2024 Beacon of Hope Award! After receiving his flowers and award, Harry gave a very heartfelt acceptance speech. He goes above and beyond every single day within and outside of the agency! May we all follow his lead in being excellent community members and strong supporters of ending homelessness.
This year, the Lynn Housing Authority & Neighborhood Development scholarship program created a new application category for students wishing to go into the field of business in memory of Laurie Walsh, former Chairperson of LHAND Board of Commissioners and co-owner of John's Oil. Laurie was an incredible community leader and businessperson with a huge heart and fantastic work ethic. Her son, Jay Walsh, had the honor of presenting this scholarship award to KIPP graduate Saja Suliman. We hope to continue Laurie's legacy by creating more opportunities for hardworking students, like Saja, for many years to come!
Thank you, Councilor Fred Hogan and A.W. Perry Inc., for your donation! This check will go to the category of alternative careers in trades or technology for our 2025 Scholarship Fundraiser.
This week, we had the pleasure of awarding scholarships to 26 graduating high school seniors! We wish them great success in their future endeavors! A huge congratulations to the Class of 2024!!!
Please join us in congratulating Harry MacCabe, who has been selected as the recipient of the 2024 Lynn Continuum of Care's Beacon of Hope Award!

The nominee should specifically meet the following criteria:
• Embodies the mission of the CoC- the nominee shall display in their daily work the mission of ending homelessness.
• Goes above and beyond – the nominee typically does more than what is required and makes a visible difference in the life of persons being served.
• Demonstrates Dignity and Respect – at all times while engaging with all persons.
• Community – Contributions represent a true sense of community.
