Why men are taking up yoga I’ve done this a thousand times before. Standing on my mat, with my head hanging down by my knees, before slowly and purposefully straightening up — ‘one vertebrae at a time’ — has become routine since I started doing yoga a few years ago. Today, though, as I lift my head and take stock of...

Through some work I do I have been lucky enough to get MBSR training. Mindfulness based stress reduction. This is my homework for week 3 and so I thought I’d share as I’ve found it a useful tool.
Additional note:
Observe= what mind stories are you telling yourself e.g ‘I’m not good enough’
Proceed= proceed with kindness to yourself and to others (makes us feel better at the end of the day)
It’s all easier said than done but it’s a positive practice to include in your day if your interested.
Open skies yoga retreat, Suffolk
August 2018.
Weaving meditation, relaxation and movement together under the great expanse of the Suffolk skies join us on a journey of reconnection and replenishment.
Enjoy barefoot walks, sunrise, sunsets, starscapes, yoga and meditations interwoven with poetry, story and yoga nidra as we open our hearts and minds to reconnect and recognise ourselves, each other and our place in the beautiful countryside that will surround us.
It is our birthright to experience our inner joy, playfulness and bliss as all too often life can draw us away from our centre. This time allow a life experience to draw you back in.
Watch with an open mind and take with a pinch of salt but I’m wondering what the truth in this is? (Claims there are 21 medical journals on this now) I know I love to be barefoot (apart from when it’s a spiked surface of course) and it makes me feel great.
After travelling and following my heart I decided to become vegetarian due to witnessing animals suffering whilst living and working on farms and with local villagers.
After a few years I noticed I fatigued easily and had weakness. So I reintroduced ‘meat as medicine’ back into my diet. When I listened to my body it felt right for me.
Like anything in life I’m open to the fact that this could change. For for me right now it feels the right thing to be doing.
This is a great article that echoes my feelings. Read with a pinch of salt; take and discard what suits for you and then have a beautiful day x
Do you have to be Vegetarian to have an Ayurvedic Diet? - SvasthaAyurveda As an Ayurvedic practitioner, I have been asked many of times about Ayurveda’s theory on eating meat. Overall it seems commonly believed that by eating an Ayurvedic diet, one should avoid eating meat. Although it is ultimately a personal decision, whether based on morals, personal preferences, rel...
With so many mixed messages out there it can be really hard to sift through it all and take decisive action. This is a great roundup of current research and thinking though.
Read, take with a pinch of salt and then go have a beautiful day x

Do men need a new story? A group of men met to share and enquire.
The Authentic Masculine is updating the concept of the men's group for the 21st century.
The authentic masculine is both flexible and strong, courageous and vulnerable, relaxed and confident. Beyond the false persona of the 'strong man' or inauthenticity of the 'nice guy'. The authentic masculine is emotionally aware, able to give and receive support and to meet the challenges of the modern world.
Not a bad thing to aspire too hey? It was a really interesting day and I'm really looking forward to see what comes of our future mens groups.
Increased demand = increased production. Maybe a yogic outlook of less is more, cultivating internal over external happiness and care for our environment could help shift the sands under the old economic model of constant growth.
