We are a group of Salty sailors who specialize in yacht deliveries. Most of our captains have at least 15 years’ experience in captaining boats (both sailboats and power boats) and have been full-time captains of boats many times. Our captains and crew are mature professionals who have a passion for yachting and enjoy doing deliveries. Each captain comes with his own crew – we therefore not only provide the captain, but the entire crew. If you make use of our services, you can therefore rest assured that the crew are competent and work well together – no dramas! That being said, we are also amenable to working with the existing crew or just providing a delivery captain or additional crew member if needs be. In addition to providing the crew, we also attend to all the administrative tasks on behalf of our crew, including their travel arrangements; and we will report to the owner/captain (as instructed) on a daily basis during the delivery. Salty Dogs will ensure that your boat is delivered safely and effortlessly!

Marius brings calmness to stressful situations. Many that have sailed with him describe his demeanor as cool, calm and collected. His knowledge of boats, systems and sailing allow him to make informed and decisive decisions. Not only is he an experienced sailor, having captained several yachts and successfully delivered many yachts in an around the east coast of the US and the Caribbean, as well as across the Atlantic Ocean; but he also has extensive experience in boat building and repairs and is a hands-on problem solver. This makes him an extremely valuable captain and crew member to have on board any yacht, especially offshore. He is passionate about boats and sailing and will treat your yacht as his own!

Gael Moana Turtschi
Age: 39

Gael was born on a yacht and has been sailing his entire life. His first official position in the industry was as First Mate on a 65ft Ketch at the age of 19. Since then, he has gained extensive experience sailing in and around the Caribbean, the Atlantic and the Pacific. Not only is he an experienced and reliable Captain, but he has also been involved in several refits and has a broad knowledge of diesel engines, marine plumbing and rigging. He is an avid deep-sea fisherman and his easy-going and friendly demeanor make him a joy to have aboard any sailboat.

Pieter is an extremely well versed mariner and waterman. His passion for the ocean is infectious and he enjoys a challenge. As a big wave surfer he has a cool, calm demeanour, and can handle any situation with a smile. Whether the sea conditions are flat and serene with really shallow reefs, or there’s a 10m swell breaking over the mast in the Cape of Storms, Pieter will remain focused and alert. His captaining experience ranges from deliveries across the Atlantic ocean from Europe and South Africa, to hosting luxury charters throughout the Caribbean. He has strong mechanical and engineering experience and finds pride in a high level of yacht maintenance and presentation. This captain is worth gold and will be an asset to any vessel.
