The last few days have been horrific and heartbreaking.

Under no circumstance will I vote for Kevin McCarthy as Speaker. Someone who attacks women’s health, immigrants, and the LGBTQ+ community should no get our support.

This vote was a win for the American people and will avert what could have been a disastrous shutdown for millions across the country. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Matt Gaetz lost big time.

My statement on the passing of Senator Dianne Feinstein:

Wishing everyone that celebrates across our community a meaningful and peaceful Yom Kippur.

If you have not been to Noble Bird at 2nd and PCH you are missing out on one of the best spots in Long Beach. It’s become a favorite place and the brunch menu is also amazing. Try out if you have not yet done so.

Never forget the sacrifices of those who paid the ultimate price for our freedoms and country. It was an honor to join so many patriots and service members at the Long Beach Veterans Memorial Rememberence at the Navy Memorial adjacent to our lighthouse park.

It’s not fun or enjoyable, but holding folks like Marjorie Taylor Greene and George Santos accountable for their lies and harmful policies is part of my job.

The number of members who want to expel George Santos continues to grow. We filed our expulsion resolution 3 months ago - it’s time for Speaker McCarthy to move the resolution through committee and bring it to a vote on the floor.

We began visioning this wind project when I was mayor and it is so exciting to see the progress. The federal government will need to invest in this transformational clean energy opportunity.
